I'd imagine they changed a few slides in the presentation too for sure. Perhaps even price as early reports said their PS4 pricing was "flexible". I'm sure some bundles were dropped for the simplicity of "we beat the price of XBox One by $100."
The main thing is they showed they're connected to gamers and highlighted Microsoft's disconnect. The used games announcement got more applause than most games shown at E3.
The timing of everything has definitely been planned. Announce first but don't show the console and leave a little mystery around other things. Just focus on games and the philosophy of immediacy, social, etc. Then, have your E3 press conference almost 7 hours after Microsoft. Gave them time to adjust some things.
By bookending their announcements around Microsoft, they were able to manage their reveal beautifully.
