Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo games get less innovative with each console.

Just gonna list some quality IPs Nintendo created for each console that I loved. I'm not gonna include the Rare or Retro's games.

I understand every game made today is a bigger risk with the high production costs and stuff but I am a little upset that the days of constant fresh new Nintendo IPs are long gone. I would love to see Nintendo creating more cutting edge IPs! I would also kill for another Waverace or big screen Kid Icarus.

NES -

Mario
Zelda
Kid Icarus
Metroid
Duck Hunt
Balloon Fight
Gyromite
Donkey Kong
Excite Bike
Startropics

SNES-

Mario Kart
Starfox
Pilot Wings
F-Zero
Mario RPG

N64-

Waverace
Super Smash Bros
Mario Party
Paper Mario
1080
Mario Tennis
Mario 64 (1st 3D Mario)
Zelda OoT (1st 3D Zelda)

Gamecube-

Luigi's Mansion
Pikmin
Animal Crossing
Battalion Wars
Eternal Darkness
Chibi Robo
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Wii-

Wii Sports
Wii Party
Wii Fit
Excite Truck
Super Paper Mario

WiiU

Nintendo Land

Innovative does not mean new franchises. Innovation refers to new ways of doing things, like new mechanics and interface.

GameCube was in fact the least innovative console by far since it is the only console Nintendo had that didn't really change things from previous consoles. It was essentially an upgrade of the N64, but more or less a dumbed down Playstation 2.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It hasnt even been out for a year yet... stop hating.

Geez, all this negativity and hate has got to stop. Nintendo seems to get the most of it too, while Sony gets rarely any.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

Super Nintendo more innovative than N64?
GameCube more innovative than Wii?

If you replace "innovative" with "better", I might agree with you to some degree.

True that.. I changed title to Nintendo GAMES get less innovative. The gamecube had heaps of fresh IPs compared to the Wii though

How can you say huge innovations for Zelda in the SNES era but not for the Skyward Sword for the Wii-U o.O?

I totally agree bro. I removed 'huge innovations for Zelda in the SNES era'. I guess I'm talking more about fresh and original IPs.

true. And I'm not hating. I love Nintendo so much. But do you honestly believe Nintendo will be coming out with new fresh IPs anytime soon mate?

No negativity homie. I'm just looking back at all the quality IPs Nintendo have given us and I guess I'm a little depressed that those days of so many fresh new IPs are probably a thing of the past.
