Forums - Gaming - RYSE (XBONE) vs Order 1886 (PS4) Graphics!

The Order was one game where I didn't think it exceeded what is currently capable of the existing consoles. Initially, I didn't think Ryse was either, but as the game went on, it seemed like the graphic fidelity improved considerably.

RYSE looks amazing and ingame cant really tell much from a trailer for 1886.

Neither is really next-gen... not a jump ahead PS360 for now.

Were we watching the same thing? RYSE easily looks next-gen. The Order is as well.

It is better than PS360 games but not that much... The Last of Us is close if made in 1080p.

Destiny and Titanfall looks better in my opinion. I was way more impressed with The Dark Sorcerer too.

In graphics terms neither RYSE or The Order impressed me.

Most of the launch games for these consoles are ports from this gen, meaning they are upgraded to the next gen, true ground up nex gen games will probably look even better than that.. like BATTLE FIELD 4 is an example of that

Ryse took it, for now that is. However, that's understandable since it was announced at E3 2011 for 360 at the time. They've had 2 years plus however long they started developement prior to that to finally show the game. After all this time and a new platform, it better look more next gen then a foggy trailer.

It's too soon to make an accurate judgment. Both games are in engine and I'd say The Order 1866 from the little we see looks like it could be better.

Skin textures and facial features look the same in both, but I think the cloth in The Order 1866 looks more textured. Also if you watch the trailer on The Order, the environmental effects are really good. Glass reflecting the image of the city skyline, fire effect, and realistic fog.

Fire and smoke on Ryse look good, but one glaring flaw is that the ground is preset. You see characters and enemies moving on the sand, but it doesn't add any new footprints in the sand. If water has a ripple effect when being interacted with on The Order 1866, that alone wins over the ground texture issue with Ryse. They didn't even have to go into detail with ground textures. This doesn't need to be ground textures on Uncharted level, but atleast put a little bit of effort into it.

A trailer versus actually gameplay?

The order is probably not even ready for this comparison. Ryse is a launch game, I don't think the order is.
