Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall getting dedicated servers

Gaming Everything

EA’s Craig Owens has confirmed that Titanfall will be receiving dedicated servers.

Owners said the following after a gameplay demonstration at E3 2013:

“We’re using Microsoft’s cloud compute initiative to run all our servers for it, so it’s all running on dedicated server. We’ll spin up and spin down servers as necessary, and it’ll do all the AI hosting and physics calculations and all matchmaking and all of that good stuff. It’s all dedicated servers, all the time.”

Good dedicated servers should be standard during the 8th gen.

I'm pretty sure MS an spare some of the 300.000 servers for Titanfall.. heck all One games should be dedicated.

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

This is why I'm excited about the Xbox One (beside all the new IPs). Finally everything will be fair. If COD isn't on dedicated servers I see no reason to buy it. I'm already tempted to not get it as is. BF4 and Titanfall are day 1.

Does EA publish the game?

I can't wait to see how it expands. 300,000 servers now, how many in a few years? The Xbox 360's LIVE network went from like 1,000 to 15,000. Will the Xbox One go from 300,000 to 4,500,000 over the next 7-8 years?

That would be ridiculous power and probably overkill for even 100 million Xbox Ones.

Titanfall looked incredible could be what gears of war was last gen for Xbox multiplayer.

Can't wait!!!
