Needs a price cut and more 1st party titles.

LOL.  Eight first-party games squeezed into five months isn't enough.  Okay.

It's like an unprecedented number of first-party games for a Nintendo console to have during a single holiday season.  Just so we're clear, here.

8? I'm counting six. Did I miss a couple?

The question I have is what will the release calendar look like the beginning of next year? We know there are some big games coming already, but they also won't all launch the first quarter (or even likely first half) of the year...will there be another 'dry spell' January-March?

I think Mario Kart, Smash Bros, X, Bayonetta will all release in the first half of 2014. Yarn Yoshi, SMTxFE plus a few unannounced titles will be the 2nd half of the year lineup

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I don't think Smash Bros. will make it first half of next year. Though I read somewhere that the 3DS and Wii U versions may not release at the same time, so presumably they'll be pushing for the Wii U one to be done first and get it to market, so it's possible.

Pikmin 3, W101, Wii Fit, Wind Waker, Wii Party, DKC, Mario & Sonic, 3D World

Even if one could argue that 2-3 of those eight aren't "core" titles, they are still hugely successful franchises, and can't simply be disregarded.

I challenge anyone to go back through the history of Nintendo lineups and find something as strong as the one listed above.  Eight games squeezed into five months.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I don't know how I miscounted (though I haven't really been counting Pikmin, since it's an August release, but I probably should).

Yeah, I don't see them dropping Smash Bros. early in the year, they did with the Wii but I would think they'd have the game playable in some either at E3 or some other event to get impressions before releasing it cold turkey or so soon after a potentially rewarding season without having something big for the second half of 2014. Because we know that neither X or SMT x FE is likely to be localized that quickly if they are just getting released in 2014.

Nintendo no doubt has a few surprises in store but Smash Bros at earliest is probably a summer release.

The only reason this looks so great is because Nintendo won't release anything other than G&W before these 5 months. It will surely help to sell systems but considering it's still 9 games in a year, it isn't totally unexpected or all that impressive.

Anyway, yes. This line-up is enough to push Wii U and give it some momentum.  The task would be for Nintendo to keep the momentum going.

Not sure who their directlying their lineup to? They should of dumped one of those games (most likely pikmin) and brought something new in THIS YEAR.

I think it's a good lineup personally. Still think PS4 hype is high (maybe not all of the hype is justified but it's there), so it might affect the Wii U. That said if Nintendo start delivering what they preach then Wii U might save face this year.

Yeah the PS4 is on a PR roll, lately.
