Forums - Nintendo - (Have some crow!) Nintendo showed incredible, hardcore, mature games and yet you complain about 3D Mario?

You know... now that I'm over that it isn't a 120 Star 64 like game... I'm actually excited. Me and my brother are excited actually. I'm looking forward to this actually.

Problem is Nintendo already revealed their next year's line-up long before in a desperate attempt to stop WiiU's sales from collapsing. I'm surprised there was any new games announced for this year, but a 2D platformer like DKC is a quick-fix and not terribly staff/time consuming (compared to Zelda/Xeno/full 3D Mario, etc).

What I am disappointed and somewhat alarmed at is how many games are pushed back into 2014.

At any rate it seems from Aug on into 2014 WiiU will have a steady stream of games. That should help boost monthly sales.

DKRC 2 has evidently taken three years to develop. That's less than Mario 3D World, and may be about as much time as the next Zelda.

Bear in mind that Retro was also assisting with Mario Kart 7's development during this time frame.

A small part of Retro was, yes, and only with a portion of that game's development. Moreover, pulling folks from one team to assist on other projects is common with Nintendo: I'd be surprised if some EAD Tokyo folks weren't chipping in on other stuff over the past two years as well.

There's an entire EAD Tokyo team dedicated to creating game engines (actually they are Nintendo's main engine dev team), so yeah.

thanks

huh.....didn't look all that bad

People, COME ON. Did you even play it? There's one thing sure about Nintendo, although sometimes their games feel like dumbed down, they always impress afterall. What I saw in 3DWORLD is pure imagination and sheer brightness. I wasn't that thrilled about Galaxy at first, thought it was a letdown because it wasn't like Mario 64, and now it's one of the best games of all time. Give it a chance, people, I'm sure you'll adore it. And btw, PEACH AND COOP.
