i think he means that when he crosses before you, you magically come before him in the ranking tables. That happened to me almost every race, with you and someone else.

Basically that's it I think. Although, I think he meant that he came in 1st, you in 2nd and the opposite in the rankings. It's due to the lag, like he meantioned.
