Is it bad that this was the best part of the direct for me?

Not really. He is a character a lot of people wanted and the trailer itself was also pretty well-done!

Also, it reminded me of this lol

Yeah ok =P

This was the best part of the direct though. The rest was crap-above average at best

Best smash news so far.

With a fifth newcomer added yesterday I thought it would be nice to get a pulse on which ones everyone is excited for. So I'll start first by listing my order and reasons.

#1. Mega Man: I've played the shit out of Mega Man games so ever since the reveal trailer Mega Man has been the character I've been dying to play with. It also helps that Sakurai did a heck of a great job transposing 8-bit Mega Man in the Smash engine. Furthermore, his moveset seems really interesting featuring a lot of abilities from my two favorite Mega Man games (2 and 3)

#2. Rosalina and Luma: The dynamic between Rosalina and Luma has me very intrigued about the possibilities of this character. I'm sure she'll end up having plenty of crazy combos that involve bouncing your opponent from Rosalina to Luma and vice versa.

#3. Wii Fit Trainer: Fast, agile, completely random, I love it.

#4. Little Mac: His KO meter seems interesting but right now I'm unsure about his moveset

#5. Villager: I never played Animal Crossing so I'm not really that anxious to play with Villager. I do enjoy the Villager is a maniac pictures though.

edit: accidentally touched submit on phone...

1. Megaman - I never played any of his games before but I know he is a popular third party charcter. He and Bomberman (a character I do know and hope for in future Smash titles!) are old iconic video game characters that aren't as popular as they were in the past so its awesome for them to appear in a popular game like Smash Bros and duking it out with Mario, Sonic, and Link.

2. Little Mac - I played some Punch Out on my laptop NES emulator and this game has aged pretty well for what it is - a fun arcade boxing game that requires the player to find his opponent's weak points and attack and dodge at proper timing. It make a lot of sense to have classic fighter like Little Mac to enter a fighting game like Smash Bros. and it's about time he appeared in SSB4! Because of these reason, I think he's the second best newcomer so far.

3. Rosalina and Luma - Mario Galaxy is one of the best 3D Mario games I have played (haven't played the sequel or 3D World yet) and I argue it has one of the most deepest story in the game. Ironically the story is not the main one (saving Peach) but Rosalina's storybook. The art style of her story book highly resembles the Little Prince, which is one of my favorite children books, and it was unexpectedly emotional and sad just like the Little Prince as well. Because of this, I think Rosalina is an awesome character for mirorring a popular literary character and I'm glad Sakurai thought of a way to make her a fighter too! Now give Rosalina a yellow scarf like the one the Prince wears for her alternative costume and I'll buy two copies of this game!

4. Wii Fit Trainer -what an unexpected surprise... and by unexpected, I mean completely expected! Just kidding. But in hindsight, how can one not see her (and him I guess) as a character? She's fit, does yoga, and body builds too, and her stances, poese, and mini games offers the Smash team a variety of choices to pick for an attack. And the Wii Fit games were huge last gen! Can't wait to do warrior poses in Smash Bros!

5. Animal Crossing Villager - Remember how popular this guy was? If not, here's a link that tracks meme activity and popularity. For the longest time people were joking about how Megaman, a favorite third party character, was getting his spotlight taken by this sprightly Villager. Turns out this Villager had an unexpected dark side we never expected until his pupil shined in delight as he captured Mario's head with his net. The Horror will continue this year hopefully!

#1. Mega Man:  Variable moveset that looks a lot of fun to play around with.  My main is Pit, and the movement of the two is polar opposite in my opinion so it will be a nice secondary style for me  I believe.  Same regarding their attack style nice dichotomy between the two.

#2. Rosalina and Luma: The dynamic between Rosalina and Luma has me very intrigued.  Also Galaxy enough said.  Also what looks like a really creative movepool outside of Luma plus she's female and there aren't enough of them (I swear I'm gay).

#3.  Villager:  Less extreme megaman it seems to me, recovery seems bit more convuluted than id like but looks fun.

#4. Wii Fit Trainer: Fast, agile, completely random addition.  Final smash looks good fantastic range want to see more of her ingame combat though I suspect will be forgotten by me if I'm honest.

#5. Little Mac: His KO meter seems interesting.  Need to know more though the GIFs of him running under fire balls makes him look faster than sonic, fast and powerful need to see more.

#1. Mega Man (I'm seeing a pattern here....): I was pumped when he arrived in the Smash Bros. reveal trailer and I can't wait to give him a test run.

#2. Little Mac: He barely missed being No.1 That's how close this was. His trailer was just as epic as Mega Man's, and his moveset looks awesome. I played Punch-Out on the Wii and I loved it. Can't wait to score a knock-out with him.

#3. Rosalina & Luma: A surprising addition but one I am curious to try out. I would've been ticked if we lost a roster spot to another clone (I looking at YOU Toon Link) but thankfully Rosalina and Luma are their own characters. Don't know how much I'll play as them, but I will definitely try them out.

#4. Wii Fit Trainer: Definitely the strangest addition in Smash Bros. history. However I think she might work out (wow, I didn't intend that pun...but it totally works!). Her uniqueness may be a boon in the game, we'll see.

#5. Villager: I know of Animal Crossing, but I never played it. So I honestly didn't know who this character was until I watched a trailer of fans talking about him. Is he interesting? Sure. But of the five he's the one I'm least curious about. And dont' get me started on those memes!!!
