When will you be getting the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros?

Day 1 94 55.62%

In October 9 5.33%

Before the end of the year 10 5.92%

In 2015 2 1.18%

Never, I'm waiting for the Wii U version 52 30.77%

Total:167

Going by the screenshots for Olimar, there's a rumor going around that he might be limited to only 3 Pikmin in SSB4.

That could make him less annoying since his spamming abilities would be reduced. But only 3 Pikmin would cripple his recovery if it's unchanged.

Over-powered as in spammy. Try playing online and when you see someone with Ike, you are SCREWED. They start spamming Ike's sword and it's annoying.

Ike is slow as hell and so easy to punish. I've never had any problems against online Ikes unless the player is really really good.

Well,  I must be out of luck since I fought with 7 users that  had Ike and I won every time, but that's because I had to be as agressive as possible.  I remember one time I got so pissed off with Mario that I kept DAIR-ing, BAIR-ing, FAIR-ing ( plus a bit of fast falling to not give the spammer any time to react) the spammer until I defeated  him/her. A ton of combinations. In Brawl is harder to combo than in 64/Melee, but  I was so pissed that I said " Screw that!" and tried my best to combo. I did a decent job.

Well, tbh, Ike is not very good at all and I bet TruckOsaurus would destroy your Ike online.

I did destroy all 7 Ikes. Read my post again.

ahh sorry, my apology.  Samus is terrible and she can destroy Ike if played properly along with good stage pick.

the problem with Olimar is that you can't see his moves coming.  They could incorporate a second recovery option for him.

I miss the times when we had trailers as epic as these, day 1 buy!

HOORAY FOR OLIMAR!!!! So happy he is back. He was one of my mains in brawl, One of funnest characters to use to a franchise with a cult following. YESS!!!!

Since the latest screenshot shows off some kind of new stage (doesn't look like anything special, could even just be single-player specific), it serves as a pretext to give this thread a bump. Since it's an official thread that's presumably supposed to stay open at least until the game's launch anyway, I don't think anyone will mind.

So what stages do you want to see from Brawl? If the WiiU/3DS game keeps up the tradition of including retro stages from only the preceding installment, then Melee stages, including classics like Temple, Corneria and Green Greens, are all out.

I've always been fond of Halberd. It has the best selection of background music in the game, arguably barring Bridge of Eldin and Rumble Falls, and it has just enough hazards to set it apart from Final Destination, Battlefield, Smashville and the like, but they're nothing you can't avoid without even really trying. The only conceivable way for you to actually get killed by them is if someone tricks/slams/spikes you into one, which is what makes it interesting.

Halberd is definitely among my favorites.

Port Town Aero Dive
Lyat Cruise
Luigi's Mansion
Shadow Moses

are the stages which I'd like to see back which aren't confirmed yet. Skyworld and Smashville are already kinda confirmed IIRC, I might mix this up with new SSB4 stages though.

My biggest stage wish for SSB4: A Metroid stage that doesn't suck. IMO none of the Metroid stages in either SSB64, Melee or Brawl were any good. They all were just plain annoying -_-

Was just playing Super Mario 64 and thought, should Smash Bros. have cartwheel jumps and back flips?

It will work like Mario's cartwheel jump in the 3D games. You need to change directions after running at one direction quickly to make the ground have dust on the ground and then press the jump button to do a cartwheel! I think black flips can be done by pressing then holding the block button and then pressing the jump button. You will be able to do a perfect or normal block along the process as well and grabbing will still have priority over blocking but not after your character already hit a shield.

It will be great when someone fast is chasing you and you perform a cartwheel that is twice as high as your character's normal jump and land a few meters away from them melee combat. And if the person keeps on using it, the jump's height and distance will be reduced. Plus both can do cartwheel jumps towards each other and have a new air attack just for that jump. Of course, the one pursuing you can also do one as well, so the jumping and landing will be pretty quick as well as the lag from running/moving after landing.

The black flip can be great when you performed a perfect block and then proceed with a down air attack right above your opponent.

Thanks for reminding me, I've been slacking off of this thread

I think the stage shown on the daily image is the Fire Emblem stage from Brawl (the one with the three phases)

I'd keep all the "neutral" stages for sure (like Smashville, Battlefield, Final Destination, Yoshi's Island).

I'd want a new Pokemon Stadium stage (but I'd still keep the other two)

I'd remove Shadow Moses (those side walls make games too long), Hanenbow, Rumble Falls (horrible stage).

For new stages, I'd like to see something from Mario Galaxy, a revamped Mario Kart stage.
