He's semi-hard the first time you fight him because he has an instant kill move that covers most of the stage you probably won't see coming. After the first fight, he becomes very predictable.

And yeah, I unlocked Jigglypuff through events as well. Event 25 I think it was...
nah it was #20 I did the same thing beat SE then went to beat the events .

Well, I just got the Creeping Chrysanthemum trophy, which requires you to collect trophies for all characters. When they say "all" characters, they mean all. You have to beat classic with the 35, + Shiek + Zero Suit Samus + the other 2 pokemon of Pokemon trainer. Just a heads up for those trying to open all the windows.
My count - 19 red windows and 1 blue window. 4 golden hammers, and one left to unlock.
