Last few times I've tried to Brawl (against a friend) the lag has been so bad it's been totally unplayable. Is this a common problem now or is it just me?

Both my friend and I have high speed internet so it should be smooth as silk.

For Marth's spike to work, you have to be above them. The sweet spot is fairly small, however, compared to his other aerials. So, you have to hit with only the tip, because if you do tipper the dair but another part of Marth's sword hits a different body part you won't get the tipper. The spacing has to be absulotely perfect.

To make spiking easier, jump off backwards. The hit box is bigger and you can spike from the side, too.

It doesn't matter, though. Marth's spike is not reliable or safe like Samus'. It's incredibly situational.

As for Peach:

She can do a dair to nair combo that kep kicking my ass. And she can gimp my Marth's recovery by thowing a turnip downwards. Those things are broken. Oh, and she can do this wierd thing where she throws a turnip but moves at the same time. That Peach was insanity. I never seen anything like that from Peach.

That's called Glide Tossing. Every Character can do it, you just need an item to throw. It's a combination of rolling and throwing, you also get the invincablity frames from the rolling bit as well =D.

I use it all the time with my offline Diddy (bananas). I just can't get the hang of it online sometimes so i usually don't use it online.

Hmmm, I've seen Diddy do it but never Peach. 

I like dair to dsmash because I can follow it up with a dash attack or a fair depending on the opponent's reaction and percentage.

I'll have to try those though.  Peach has a lot of one-two combos like the above and d-throw and u-tilt.

Marth has a sick Bthrow Glide Toss

Looking for a few matches.

Gawd damn. I am so freaking sick of playing with Fred and Shea. If we have equal stocks they always go after me first. I can't win at all if it's always 2 on 1...
