No, I'm glad you whupped my ass... Have to get better somehow. And for some reason, I forget the shield button is there.
Playing Brawl online seems like a massive undertaking... I don't think I'm cut out for this.
I read your link for fighting pit, and again, am more confused than ever.

Fighting offline against Lvl 9 computers can help you out but you'll learn much faster online.
I hardly ever used my shield before I got online because I could easily crush computers without it but fighting with people here I quickly found out it was a necessity.
I never spot dodged before playing against Shizzlee but once I saw how effective it could be I started including it into my gameplay (although I don't always use it when I should yet).

Brawl online isn't too harsh really. Go to a large scale tournament in person ^^; Then you'll really have some fun >:p
Who would you practice with if not online? CPUs? CPUs can't mind game you dear and their AI off the ledge is worse then a one armed, mentally retarded monkey. CPUs also don't adapt. You'll be gimping yourself far more by practicing and beating CPUs rather then attempting to play and receiving your ass on a silver platter provided by real people either in person or online.

I just feel moderately overwhelmed after that match.
Maybe I'm just not good....
We all start somewhere. You think I did that well in my first match ever? Hell no. My first set of matches was me being 3 stocked in some of the most painfully embarrassing ways imaginable. I'd say you did a hell of a lot better then I did in my first match against a person.
Now I can 3 stock said person with ease ^^; It takes practice dear just like everything else in life.
