Microsoft won on games. Sony won on everything else.

Overall, Sony won. Wouldn't say one outright killed the other.

Spark looks like the game I was hoping LBP would be, but wasn't. That said it's Windows 8. So instead of getting an Xone i'll probably just upgrade my PC wholesale.

 

End conclusion?  More likely to own a PS4 then Xone so far.  Though I have different criteria for owning both.

Agreed. Sony's event, in terms of presentation, focus, and coherence, was actually inferior to Microsoft's. And there were more exclusive games at the Microsoft event. But Sony made up the difference by passing on the DRM and online connectivity nonsense. Although shame on them for erecting a paywall for online multiplayer.

@everyone saying that Sony won because of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts: aren't those two games multi-platform? Isn't that like saying Microsoft won because of Metal Gear Solid V?

those games are exclusive. 

Oh for real? My mistake. Then that IS huge news. MGSV isn't exclusive to Xbox One, right? I can't imagine that...

no MGSV is releasing on the same day as the PS4 version. kigdom hearts 3 and FF15 are PS4 exclusive.

Publishers killed MS. MS went through the trouble of making a system where devs get a piece of used game money likely on faith that publishers would bully Sony into the same position. This resulted in the 24 hour checkup and used game madness that MS is left with. Sony just gave the finger to the whiney 3rd party devs that wanted a cut of used games.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I didn't defend MS with its trophies. I defend that Sony learned a lesson or two from Microsoft. (That's from your "Xbox is a PS wannabe" argument). That doesn't have nothing to do with how E3 went or my opinion about both companies.

thanks for clearing that up :) i swear i keep getting confused on the number of FF games. isnt there a FF13 game coming out this year? and now there is a FF14 and 15?

Fair enough. I said wannabe because besides Halo and Kinect everything Xbox can do Sony can do and vice versa. Well, everybody can do everything I guess. It just depends on what the company's ambitions are. I guess I should also start using Xbox in terms of Microsoft because there's no way Sony is beating Microsoft as a whole. You know with windows, tablets, etc. I love MS. Just not too fond of Xbox. There really aren't any winners at E3. You show what you show and hope to gain leverage. MS definitely has perks that Sony don't got.
