Forums - Microsoft - Remember the Xbox Strategy leak? Its coming true - See the future

While browsing GAF, something came up that got leaked. It was about the future of Xbox and nobody really knew if it was true. We discussed it here before.

Its true.

No shit.

This is an advert from E3, for Xbox One.

All in One. Input One. Right? The following link is pretty good.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0iImq1q0Y-SaUdSWjI5aUVJNVE/edit?pli=1

Lets take a look at a leaked slide.

Notice the 3rd slide. Xbox 720 and Kinect V2 launches... One box. Input 1. It has a lot of unified platform talk and ends with cloud talk. Fortaleza Glasses arre yet to be revealed or hinted as, as far as I know, but its seemingly the future of Xbox.

This was from 2010. It leaked sometime in 2012.

There are more leaks.

A lot of interesting stuff here. Blu-ray. The Power States. Concurrent apps. Lots of TV talk. Media hub. Phones. "Slates"(Tablets/Smartglass)... Glasses.

Hell, they even had the fantasy football thing planned that we saw at the reveal conference.

And one more slide for you, again with the "One Box" talk and a hint at the future.

The most important slide?

$299? We will see...

Bonus -

Our very own JayWood2010 had a thread back in February, where we very nearly guessed the name of Xbox One.

Give yourself a cookie, VGChartz.

Thoughts on the strategy?

$299 could very well happen seeing as M$ doesn't care about losing $$ as long as they can get this into people's living rooms.

but in the same graph they say they want to be profitable every year. if they lose 100$+ on every console i dont see that happening

If that does happen then this holiday belongs to Microsoft, and probably the generation. Sony don't have a chance at matching that price.

Plans can be changed.

They don't want to lose relevancy in the console market. The only reason they entered in the 1st place was to push Windows and Direct X. They are fine losing billions in order to do so.

$299 would sway a lot of non believers purely on the price point alone.

2010 was from before the console re-bid. Every bit of the hardware changed. The new design is more expensive and the cost figure is no longer relevant. The strategy didn't change though.

Ignore the $299

i dont think that is the case, i think they are after profitablity and high profit margins now. if they wanted market share they would have make gaming online free and had a price cut on the 360 for a long while now

I think the $299 would be the rumored subsidized SKU.

Though Im fairly sure that rumor was shot down. No way in hell this machine will release for $299

Gears of War 5? Judgement was a prequel.

Unless they count quantity not sequence.

$299 price point with no 2 year contract and a 500 gig HD? Sign me up. $299 would be an AMAZING price point, even with all the hate the system would get it would sell damn well at $300.

It's just that simple.
