Aside from Dante, Snake, and the SE characters, these are all Sony from Sony franchises. Jak, Ratchet, Sly, Kratos, Sir Daniel Fortesque, Logan, Nathan Hale, Sweet Tooth, the Helghan trooper, the guy from Ico, the guy from SotC, etc. are all Sony IPs.

Sony don't have the repertoire of well known characters that Nintendo does. The only company that could come close is Sega.

I think since the PS1 days most game companies have concentrated less on creating characters and more on just making games.

obviously Sony hasn't milked their own characters nearly enough, They need to do what Nintendo's doing.

Still though, if they make a fighting games with those guys, I'd buy it.

Sony has few first party characters so it simply wouldn't be possible. Also, most of these chars wouldn't feel right in a smash game

Not "only", but Brawl is the first to use any T-P characters and there are only two (Snake and Sonic).
