Angry Joe is a good view on what has been wrong so far with MS's approach.

Full disclosure I own an Xbox and PS3 but i prefer to play PS3. Now I cannot see how *ANY* gamer can support what MS is doing. It's an absolute disgrace as Joe says. If Sony pull this kind of crap, even though i own probably 300+ games I will not be supporting their next console... because when i buy a game i expect to be able to use it in 5/10 years time as long as my hardware still works. I do not expect the ability for me to play games (online/offline) to be in the hands of a company who decides that they don't want me playing these games anymore because they want me to get their next console.

As for PC DRM, yes the PC has some DRM, and I generally stay away from it if I know about it. I've purchased 90+ games off GOG and will continue to do that.

What's GOG?

The Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) is a non-profit international organization with the purpose of promoting excellence in the quality and integrity of clinical and basic scientific research in the field of Gynecologic malignancies. The Group is committed to maintaining the highest standards in clinical trials development, execution, analysis and distribution of results. Continuous evaluation of our processes is utilized in order to constantly improve the quality of patient care. To promote this mission, the GOG receives support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes for Health (NIH).

Seriously though, GOG stands for Good Old Games, and you can look at their catalog by clicking here.

He meant GMG I think (Green Man Gaming) a nice site to get older and some newer DRM free games from.

Edit: Whoops I was wrong and meant GOG like the user above me said lol.

I've never heard of either, but now I have to check out both, heh.

Ah! I know GMG! Never bought anything from them, though.

Yeah GOG I meant Good Old Gaming, they are owned by the people who make the Witcher.

You can get some really awesome classic games with some bonus extra's all DRM free. Granted some of the games are pretty old/old school, but lots of fun can be had with them. Their success shows that there are lots of people who will support DRM free regardless of idiot pirates.

Yeah every game on GOG is DRM free, it's pretty fuckin sweet (and there are a lot of games on there), so to all of those people that are like why go to PC when its all DRM SHUT YOUR MOUTH  and look at all the games that are DRM free that arent on steam, cuz steam isnt the only provider of PC games :P

A lot of people are irrationally defending MS, so they won't bring up anything that diminishes their argument. I'm also tired of the "it doesn't effect me" argument. Such an apathetic stance leads to the future erosion of consumer protections. I'm hoping Sony doesn't follow suit but I'm not confident in them either. They've proved with the PS3 that they are willing to negatively alter a consoles functionality well after the purchase has been made.
