Forums - Sony - Kingdom Hearts 3 & Final Fantasy XIV & Final Fantasy XV for PS4?

While the banner looks fake to me I fully expect Kingdom Hearts 3 to be a PS4 exclusive.

The HD remixes are on PS3 and there is no known market for the games on the Xbox brand. While it would be good for gamers for it to go multi plat financially its not a big deal for SE to keep it exclusive especially if Sony through in a bit of money to aid in development costs.

Final Fantasy to me is a bit of a trickier situation. It clearly has a market in the Xbox brand but it is certainly smaller than that of Playstation. SE could easily port Final Fantasy over and make more than enough to cover the porting / dev costs, but will they want to is the question.

Good point, Square Enix never announce games Years before they are due to release.

I mean, Versus XIII didnt get announced that long ago and Final Fantasy XIV released on PS3 back in 2010.

If this is fake, as it seems to be, its not because they wouldnt announce KH3 so soon.


They just made a statement that they think long development cycles are disonest and unprofitable. -.-

Nowadays, seeing the enormous success of KH on DS and 3DS, and considering that Nintendo is heavily-coaxing big Japanese publishers to lend Wii U some support, I'd be surprised if KH III didn't also make it to Wii U in some form or another. The Kingdom Hearts audience I feel like is sort of like Sonic, not in genre, but in that those series lend themselves very well to the type of audience that buys Nintendo platforms. The sales of those series on Nintendo systems speak for themselves.

Except Birth By Sleep on PSP outsold both those games individually... Though Birth By Sleep didn't outsell 358/2 by much.  But then again, Birth By Sleep was released on a handheld with roughly half the userbase and with rapant piracy.

It was!  Whcih goes back to my usebase argument :P.  Though I think Square keeps on mentioning piracy numbers for their PSP titles, I've not seen them mention piracy numbers for DS titles so it might not have been as much as a problem.
