Forums - Gaming - Microsoft cancels post-E3 roundtable.

This does not bode well, and only MS fans could (will) try and spin this into something positive... They should have their shit together and should be able to answer any question asked them. Not being able (or wanting to) is not in any way positive.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Well, yeah, but they will have to face those questions eventually, there's no running away from them forever.I wonder if they plan to postpone those answers till, let's say, as close to the X1 launch as possible.

That's what it sounds like to me too. My guess is they still haven't hashed out those issues and don't want to risk any more off-the-cuff embarassments.

How reassuring. -_-

This is just supposition built on hearsay, so take it for what that's worth, but if half the allegations made in the eSRAM thread are correct, the XBox One may be even less ready for launch than the Wii U was at this point in the Wii U's timeframe. While I sincerely doubt that they're going to change the fundamental idea of the system at this point, I'd only be mildly surprised if they have little more than the concept and a few proposals in place at the moment, hence the lack of details.

Brilliant! No news is good news, right?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Only in the land of gaming do you have people who think answering no questions is a good thing.

I guess we should just take everything at face value and go into next gen blindly.

This industry cracks me up.

There is no way to possibly try to spin this as a positive.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Here's a post from GAF, from 'famousmortimer', a member who has some contacts in the industry:

"I mentioned the other day that I was hearing rumors of Microsoft throwing around a considerable amount of money to have publishers only show games on the Xbox One during E3. Most people dismissed my admittedly flakey news as 'that's what always happens.'

I've talked to more people since then though and this isn't the usual jostling for publishers on stage that happens at E3. Microsoft is throwing BIG money around to reverse course on idea that they aren't a games console. The rumors are that PS4 versions of multiplats, by those who do take the money, won't be shown AT ALL. Not on stage and not on the show floor.

I don't feel bad for Sony because business is business. I'm sure they will find a way to have a decent show... or they will have to recover afterwards. That's not really my concern.

Now, there's no need to take my word on this if you don't want to. But do keep an eye on E3 next week. With them buying up everything in sight and now potentially cutting an open roundtable out(to assumedly talk one on one with friendly press) and word that finding multiplat games on the ps4 on the show floor will be much harder than anticipated.... just keep an eye on it. Maybe my sources are wrong. But I feel confident enough in this info to share it.

I'm not saying to jump to conclusions. I'm just saying it may be something to keep an eye on."

Yes, this doesn't sound like good news at all. People were hoping that Microsoft would finally put all of the negative rumors to rest during their initial reveal, which unfortunately did not happen. I personally was hoping that Microsoft would either put an end to the concerns at E3, or in the very least, rip the band aid off to get it out in the open.

How long does it take to get your answers straight?

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

I guess MS need more time to be united as One in their answers for all the issues, but E3 as MS have said is all about games, so I am not sure they want to revisit all the issues that arose from the reveal right now and take away anything from the games, they maybe see that there is plenty of time to clarify everything after E3?

Still it’s not an ideal situation they are in, ignore the issues and just talk games or talk about the issues + games and maybe end up taking the shine off the games! It a appears a no win situation they have created, I wonder if MS will get criticism for just talking games at E3, that would be crazy?

MS PR must to be working overtime to turn this around!

That is because MS also will be at Gamescom. A lot of employees were not sure that MS will go to Gamescom in August. Today or yesterday it is confirmed that MS will be at gamescom and their we probably get price/releasedate.

e3 doesn't matter to MS.
What does matter is late night with Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen, and Conan

getting a little bit tired of knee jerk BS like this.

reported.

Reported? Good luck with that.

I will never get moderated for that.

I was actually saying that in defense of MS.
The market that will sell the xb1 and disrupt is the tv market, who watches TV SHOWS like Ellen and Conan, and not e3, where gamers watch livestreams on internet backalleys. Sorry for being objective, Kow.
