If they aren't made up where did you get the numbers from?

I wil never talk about sources, ever. I am losing patience, however, reading all the nonsense in this and other forums, so I might simply refrain from reading and posting one day.

Even without sources, you could get a good idea about chip manufacturing and "how it works generally" by reading specific semiconductor forums where the "semiconductor people exchange ideas". These are not the easy-to-read forums, there are scientists, not gamers, contributing.

And ethomaz: If it makes you happy: Yes, I have no clue and make up all my numbers, everytime - After all, I am not a scientist with 20+ years insight into various mass manufacturing technologies ,I just made up that part, too. Happy now?

How about a break-down of the costs associated with chip manufacturing without giving away sources? Or some kind of link to a review article that can explain the process?

Whatever it happened, I just can't believe AMD deliberately sabotaged or treated unfairly MS, that's been an important client of its before Sony swirched to it too. And after all, Sony and MS just happened to choose different versions of the same family of APUs as bases for their respective customized chips. If the rumour is true, what could have happened can be a bad choice by MS of the foundries used to produce its chips (AMD doesn't produce its chips anymore and outsources them both to its spin-off GlobalFoundries and to other third parties), or maybe some subtle design error affecting heat production and/or dissipation.

have you read the posts in the thread? what is happening is entierly MS's fault for chosing to go with DDR3 ram instead of DDR5

Yes, but somebody (maybe in another thread) mentioned also overheating problems, and another (surely in this thread) mentioned a rumour about MS being angry with AMD... Yes, I should have specified what I was writing about, as it was a secondary diversion from the thread's main arguments.

Edit: yes, the part about MS angry with AMD was here http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5400030, that's in page 3 of this thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=161548&page=3

The difference between prices showed today... Xbone $499 and PS4 $399... just proved MS is really having problems with the Xbone's APU and due the low yields the price of the chip is so high to manufacture.

The PS4 is in a way better position.

Well, even with components supply problems, if you preoredered now it's quite sure you'll receive the XBone too not later than in 2014!

j/k, I should have added a smiley.

PS That Lanuch, is he a prophet? A relative of Baruch's maybe? Do prophets earn a living selling consoles?

The esram yield issues explain the XBO's size, explain the XBO's price, and explain why reports are coming in from GameStops all over the US about ps4 launch unit allocations as much as tripling that of XBO.
