This wasn't my point. I grew weary of all these comments saying that it doesn't add much power because already everyone knows it. It's like posting 100 times tomorrow the sun will rise.

I think so.
But even with our dollar dropping lately, factoring in GST, and some economies of scale headroom, anything over $600 is unfair.

I can afford a $499 console and it's still a good deal (imo) considering what you get, but can MS's fan base afford it? $499 + whatever Live will cost (still not a good deal), seems a bit too steep for gamers that spent a generation not paying that high of an entry price point.

$500 plus gold subscription is too much, add in the online check in each day and not allowed to own your games and i don't see this going well for Mircosoft.
