Forums - PC - Serious Google Chrome Issues. Is My Browser Haunted? Help? **I Need Serious Help**

Guys... I have an issue that I don't even know how to Google to see if there are any solutions or known problems.

My Google Chrome browser will randomly start playing music without me wanting it to. For instance:

1) If I google a song, such as "Modest Mouse - Dashboard," a search page will pop up showing different links for the song. Then, with no further action, the song STARTS PLAYING while I'm still on that Google search page. No other windows, tabs, or applications are open. Just that Google search page.

When I close the tab, the music will continue for ~10 seconds and then just stop.

2) I was watching a Twitch stream earlier this morning, and during one of the breaks, the streamer played this overly romantic love song. We were all chatting on twitch making fun of it, typing out the song lyrics, etc. I don't know what the song was even called. But I typed out a line of it that I heard while it was playing, and then 15 seconds later he stops the song.

Right after that, the song restarts, but it's even louder. After a few seconds I realize it's not playing from his stream anymore. It's playing from NOWHERE. I muted his stream - it still went on loudly. I closed the Twitch tab, and then the song stopped ~10 seconds later.

What the FUCK is going on with my browser? It's not just this computer, it happens to me while I'm at work. Is this some sort of weird ass fucked up "feature" that starts playing songs when I type their lyrics?

Use another browser then..Like Firefox the best browser ever created by god.

On some sites ads pop out of nowhere, playing videos or music. Just look for them and press on pause, or if it is possible close them completely. So I don't think this is a browser problem :)

This isn't at all what I'm experiencing. I know my PC well enough to know there are no additional windows, tabs, or applications running (by my own hand). I have adblock enabled and I also see no ads anywhere. Why would an ad pop up and play a song that I just typed some lyrics into on a Twitch chat? That makes no sense. Did you read my OP?

Looking for serious answers, please.. I'm running a full system scan right now, so we'll see if anything comes from it. I can confirm by my mixers that it is indeed coming from Chrome.

I didn't say it's on another tab or window, it can be on the site itself, I did read your OP, did you read my answer -_-?. Does this happen on every site you use? If not then it probably has nothing to do with Chrome.

I'm using adblock and I can visually confirm there are no ads running. So far it's happened to me on Twitch and Google search. I will type in lyrics from a song, and then the song will start playing for no reason. It's not a random song, it's THE song i'm typing the lyrics of.

I just tried doing Google searches of about 50 different songs (and for each one I left the page open for 10 seconds). Only 5 of them started playing the song. The rest did nothing (even if I left the page open forever).

System scan still running.. I've done a few searches and it seems others have issues of *random* songs playing on their PC. But none of them seem to be inside the browser itself, and my songs aren't *random*. They're songs I'm typing out. O.o

That's really strange o.o Nothing like this has happened to me, for the record

More info might help. OS? Browser version? Can you reproduce the effect? If so, describe the specific sequence of steps that results in it happening.

Earlier my Chrome browser was acting up. Every time I clicked on a link it would open a new window automatically. But it's working normal again. Can't remember is I restarted my computer or just the browser. Probably not related but still maybe Chrome is having bug issues.

chrome has gone to shit lately, no idea how to fix that problem tho it does sound like the kinda dumb feature the new google would implement.
