Since this is sony we are talking about that also try to fool everyone with stuff like "this footage is directly captured from a PS3 system" (which basically means this is running a bluray with prerendered footage) .... I guess that means they will highly recommend instead of require the DRM stuff and since they talk about initial establishment of the console this means they are going to add this within the first 2 years.

Third party is who pushes this crap and Sony lets the third party decide so its the same shit as with Xb1....

They also never said that used games wont be blocked with a future update!

I hate that companies say everything completely mysterious and are so vague. Say NOT WITH PS4 this is simple "3" words instead of some strange PR blahblah. What about being direct? You know like "attack its weak spot for massive damage" simple yet totally understandable!

Sony stated long ago after their reveal that they never thought of DRM at all, that was all Microsoft who demands the console be online at least once a day.

It would be very hard for me to believe Sony did not think about or talked about DRM when they are the only company with a patent on it.  It also would be hard for me to believe Sony did not have something in place when they were asked direct question on the subject we go no comment.  It's not like Sony was against having project 10 dollars within there own games.  It's not like Sony never put root kits on people pcs for CDs.

Any way is it me or is anyone asking the right question.  Stop asking if Sony is doing what MS is doing and ask is there a system on the console for DRM.  If there is a system for DRM how is it implemented and enforce.

People seem to be so wrapped up in how MS does its DRM but it seems no one is asking if Sony does something different.

If they answered that a long time ago. I swear to god, its like if MS does something wrong Sony must follow suit....seriously no. Everyone expected Sony to make people pay for PSN just like Xbox Live Gold because gold was successful and Sony did the gamer centric thing by creating PSN Plus. I had no doubt Sony had no plans for DRM the way the Japanese deal with gaming, thats something only the American companies would have the balls to start. Low and behold I was correct and Sony confirmed that they never thought to put DRM in their system. Your question has been answered since february, you guys just refuse to believe it. Is it so hard to believe that Sony could be a more consistent gamercentric brand?

As I said...Sony is more gamercentric than Microsoft whom is bringing a major corporate lockdown streak to gaming. People who are Microsoft centric want them to be as bad as Microsoft so they can justify and rationalize MS pro-corporate decisions and even if they did screw up, Sony would smarten up to what gamers want. They did it with the PS3 and they continue to follow in the tradition. Sony confirmed since February that DRM wouldn't be included in the console.

Absolutely and inequivically wrong. Neither company is "gamecentric", they both are largly invested in other areas. In reality all they care about is how fast they can part the consumer from their hard earned cash, and they clearly have different ideas on how to achive that goal. I really don't understand this blind loyalty to Sony or MS for that matter, it just isn't logical to me.

Then that patent on restricting used games comes to mind.....

What other areas is Sony majorly investing in outside of games for the console, or actually ever really compared to MS? Try to equate the two and talk to me about logic.

I'm wondering why that question isnt asked myself?

To me, this is simply not good enough. Third parties will be allowed to do their DRM business. Sony is taking a passive approach to this. This is not what the gamers wanted. We wanted Sony to pressure publishers to not implement such anti-consumer strategies and figure out another way.

This isn't news though. We knew this already. The problem is that all/most 3rd parties will be doing that, if they are doing it on the xbox.

Lol, you cannot be serious! Let's see, they do this whole consumer electrinics thing, oh, and they do records and movies...their game department is only a small slice of the money grubbing pie Sony is invested in. My point still stands.

Actually the games department has been a bigger chunk of Sony than in the past. Their electronics isnt doing that great these days and they need to stylize their products and lower the price because its not that they dont make it quality stuff, they just make the average consumer pay too much for it when theres other alternatives. When I asked the question about what other areas is Sony majorly focusing on outside of games for the console. I said the console...I am not talking abou the brand. We know MS's major interests are outside of gaming and they made that abundantly clear with the Xboxone, byt trying to undercut Apple & Samsung in one fell swoop. That is the definition of spreading yourself thin.

Of course MS has major interests outside of gaming. Things that bring in more money than gaming. Sony has major interests outside of gaming as well. Like movies/music and selling life insurance. Especially the insurance part, since they make more money as an insurance company than anything else. You can try to sugarcoat Sony's intentions and strategy all you want but the fact of the matter is these are two big companies who exist solely to try and make money off of consumers.

As for focuses as it pertains to the console, without detailed documentation regarding how much each of the big 3 spend on all avenues of their consoles, you're just peddling off your opinion as fact.
