What is the cost to attend E3 2013?

Expo Pass 3-day Show Floor Pass $795 ($995 after 4/29/13)

Industry Pass 3-day Show Floor Pass FREE (Not available after 4/29/13) Industry Pass is available to qualified Interactive Entertainment Industry Professionals ONLY.

I don't know how you guys can afford it. Its kind of pricy for 3 day event. I would be interested, but I'm not going to pay 1k for this event.

Edit. I had to add more stuff because I hit spacebar and it posted without all the stuff I wanted to say.

It was free for me (and has been for years). Flights to LA are ~$130 for me. I know people there to crash with that live close to convention center. Minimal cost for me would be $130 (plus meals) for 3 days of gaming entertainment. Now, granted, this year I decided to splurge and got a rental car, but still, it's not expensive if you get a free pass.

free pass? how? god if i could get a free pass i would actually fly from England.

I will be in Boston, working at a restaurant. If you come in I will byu you a margarita

Be an industry professional (video game industry that is) or video game media. Alternatively I know that in the past Playstation was giving away some passes. They aren't too strict, so as long as you're sorta loosely affiliated with gaming, it should work. Way too late now as the deadlines for free passes for industry folks passed, but read up about next year and maybe you can find yourself a job where you can get a free pass.

I always take my review staff going to E3 out to a dinner, if others from VGC wanted to come (I'm paying for my staff's dinner but I can't pay for yours though) I think that'd be fun.

For reference the people going to the dinner will be myself, naznatips, and ODC from the old days.

Torillian, thanks, that is a offer.  It would be fun to join you guys, provided it is not crazy expensive.  (But crazy expensive is a matter of perspective.)

And I wouldn't expect you to pay for us.

Right now, it's looking like only one or two other people.  Is that ok?  Or maybe if it's too expensive we meet you all for a drink afterwards.

Cheers,

Zappykins

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Oh back when Brett used to come to E3 with us we went to some fancy pants pizza place but I'm a cheap bastard at heart so the most expensive we got for these days is IHOP.  I don't really mind how many from the community decide to join us, but I haven't figured out where we're going yet.  Will probably do the dinner Monday since I'm getting in pretty late Sunday.  Send me a PM with your number and I can call you once I'm sure what we're doing or I can give you mine, doesn't bother me either way.  There'll be about 6 people there probably, but the three I mentioned are the ones from the VGC community originally.

Did I miss something? Wasn't E3 developers and press only?

Yes, but some of us have magic secrets that open doors.  Plus, I am suggesting an informal meeting for anyone that would like to meet face to face.

I'll be going. I wouldn't mind a meet up, but it all depends on when/where. I wouldn't be so down for dinner, maybe just a drink or something or maybe even during the conference for a lunch or what have you. Don't make any plans based on me though :)

Right now we are tentatively schedule a pay your own way dinner.

Probably in the Universal City/North Hollywood area.

It is looking like Tuesday Evening approx 7:00ish.

You guys should record this dinner for us.

If anyone wants to meet at the Mcdonalds on county Farm Road in Bloomingdale illinois, I will be there at 12:00 PM today for lunch. But I cannot make it to LA, let alone make it more than 10 miles from home.

Dude, if there is Anything we learned from the movie, "Clueless" is that everything in no more than 20 minutes from LA.

But it is more than 10 miles, and not sure if your car can handle the velocity required to make it in 20 minutes.

I’ll try to take pictures!
