Forums - Nintendo - So, apparently Bloom Blox is gonna make us cry

http://kotaku.com/351435/spielberg-game-will-induce-tears-emotion

Steven Spielberg's EA game - of which we still know precious little - was being talked up the other day at the Imagina 2008 summit. Specifically, the emotional impact EA are hoping the game will pack, even going so far as to suggest it may bring a tear to your eye. EA's Glenn Entis, speaking on the game's emotional potential:

"We believe the Spielberg game will set a new bar. It's a brilliant team and we also think that if any creative collaborator has the instincts for it, Steven Spielberg does because he's the Steven Spielberg of directors."

Wait, so this Spielberg game will be all emotional? With tears? We were promised the Steven Spielberg of directors, not the Nora Ephron of directors.

Me:

So, isn't this a puzzle game called Bloom Blox that takes place in like a geometry world with few characters and like a pink hippo or something?

Anyway, Spielberg is probably the greatest director, period. His movies define the genres' they enter. Jaws for horror, Saving Private Ryan for War, Indiana Jones for adventure, Schindler's List for drama.

Who am I to question him?

Wait, are we even sure this is Bloom Blox? Somebody look it up, quick? Is spielberg making 2 games or is this the Wii puzzler, lol?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Would make a pretty boring movie.

Anybody remember that lego demo for PS3? Or maybe it was just for Havok in general, I'm not sure.

Edit: Oh, the game is called Boom Blox, not Bloom Blox.

LOL I thought this was about the RPG from Nintendo Power.

I'm already crying.

For god sakes, do you know how much disappointed I was after hearing that this was the Spielberg Wii project? But are you sure this is the Wii project? He had one for the PS3/360 too.

Probably that one then. I dunno. Shitty Kotaku was as shittily vague and bitter as usual.

Pink hippo? I'm sold!

Yeah, I can see how a game of blowing up cows and 20 other characters just makes me want to cry.

Maybe the actual game will be better than it sounds.

Are you sure it's this game. He is working on a series of games, and as that will be release in a few months they could be talking about a different one in the series of games...?

The videos for this game actually look pretty cool.
