1 Week! I'm so excited! :D

So my Arnold and Obama connections scared you from making an Animal Crossing thread right? Tis a shame you never replied on Miiverse... I'll have to send more Miis.

No. The 3DS does not have the same casual pull as the DS had.

Hmmm.... I wonder why Animal Crossing: New Leaf only needs less than 2m in sales (VGC has been behind on NL sales due to digital sales since they first started trying to track the game) to pass Wild World in sales for Japan...  Looks like Japan is eating up the game and if I could bet anyone I would bet that Animal Crossing will light up the sales charts in USA and Europe on its release.  Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be the most sold in the series.  Animal Crossing is a system seller for hand helds.

Japan.... There's a big culture difference when it comes to casual gaming from Japan to the west.

I don't think the DS ever got any special Animal Crossing unit (I don't think they really did that many special DS units like they have with 3DS).  Animal Crossing 3DSXL bundle is coming to USA and Europe right?  This should only add fuel to the fire for the sales.  There are a decent amount of Animal Crossing fans out there from the DS days.  Seeing Animal Crossing released on 3DS would probably warrant a purchase for many of these fans.  Please don't mention anything about smartphones...  Even the casuals know any sim based smartphone game doesn't compare to Animal Crossing.

You'll just have to see the numbers for yourself.

Sounds good. We will just have to wait. If AC:NL passes 7m by end of this year would you be open to possibility that it could pass 12m lifetime sales?

It will pass WW, I'll make sure of that :D

I'm ready to swap lives with my character, I can hardly wait.

It will pass AC: Wild World because it adds more to the series than any other sequel to Animal Crossing.  It actually makes AC seem fresh and new.  The previous versions were more repeats (not that I didn't love them).  This actually mixes things up in a good way.  So New Leaf will easily outsell Wild World.

"Best versions" of game series don't always outsell their predecessors. It won't be surprising that New Leaf gets the best reviews (out of the series) yet, but it also won't be surprising if it doesn't outsell Wild World.

It's easier to just message me on here. XD I haven't been on my WiiU this week. Haven't had a chance. :/ Although I need to get on there while Mega Man X has the special going on...

Yea, I never tried Mega Man X.  I might pick up the eshop game but I'd rather go out and get this.

Knew a friend that had the collection and watched him play it a little at his house.  I need to pick up some of these collection of series on GCN and Wii (want to get the Samurai Showdown Anthology on Wii for sure, enjoyed the Metal Slug one a lot). My Miiverse reference was just me sending random Miis that I transfered over from the Wii (from Check Mii Out Channel).

I have a bad history of rebuying games. I have that on the PS2. It's a lot of fun.

Well now you can play it on your gamepad!  Nice avatar by the way.  You probably should have went with this guy though...

lol... or this guy since you are a mod!

Nah... nevermind no one really likes the cops/town gaurds that much.

"Purchases of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, launched last November in Japan and South Korea, have also been mostly digital due to short supply of the physical version at retail, and because the game is "one that you can enjoy every day over a long period of time." The title has shipped 3.86 million units to date, with one quarter of the total sales being digital. This number includes sales of the special Animal Crossing 3DS XL bundle which includes a digital copy of the game. The bundle will launch alongside the game in North America this June."

So sales in Japan and South Korea are almost to 4m right now.  VGC has it listed at 3.3m.  Digital sales are huge for this game!  Plus, the Animal Crossing 3DSXL bundle is helping a decent amount

Many members really don't like the mods that much either. They're mis-understood, just like our little Town Guards!

Japan I'm not worried about. NA and Europe are. I have a feeling that they won't be as supportive to New Leaf as they were to Wild World.
