Have you ever played AC? Do you own this game?

Of course -.-
But it's my first Animal Crossing so I don't know if I'm doing it right.
Is the game supposed to rely heavily on the online mode?

Nah, it can be played just single player but playing online helps a lot (such as getting all the fruit). Just fish, catch bugs, and dig up fossils the first few days. It doesn't matter how fast you progress in the game (paying off house loans and public works projects). Just progress at your own pace. Trying to keep up with some people is a futile effort cause some have already poured 60-100+ hours into this game. I'm nearing 40+ hours myself I believe. My town is decently set up now and I have most fruit (although shared most already and have to wait for it to grow back). You can post your FC and you can come check out my town if you want. Let me know and if you don't want your FC posted in op then let me know. You could just post it in thread. Of course you gotta add them along with them adding you so you won't end up with any unwanted friends.

Reggie Fils-Aime's Home In Animal Crossing: New Leaf Distributed Through SpotPass

Make sure your body is ready before entering his house
It seems it's not just the Nintendo Life team and our lovely readers who have their hands glued to their 3DS systems playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf; Reggie Fils-Aime is also absorbed with the adorable simulation game, as the tour of his own house will tell.
The virtual residence of Nintendo of America's President and COO displays a plethora of Nintendo items, such as an Arwing Model, 1-Up and Power Up Mushroom items, and a Virtual Boy. Simply put, it's an amazing house that we're all envious of.
North American gamers are currently able to visit Reggie's home through the Happy Home Showcase via SpotPass. On top of that, you'll have the opportunity to purchase some of the furniture that features in his humble abode. So far, his house has only been distributed across the US - there's no word on it being shared across Europe.
What are your thoughts on his home? Have you visited his house yet and ordered incredible items for your own house in the game? If you have, send a photo to our Twitter or Facebook accounts, we'd love to see your own Nintendo-themed digs.

nope can play offline as much as you want but it may be lonely experience.
Went to Reggie's house in HRA showcase. Ordered some decent items from his house. I have a perfect pic to put in op.

So I guess I'll keep playing then.
I'll post my FC when I get back home!

Sounds good. I work second shift (central USA) from 3-11 (sometimes 1 am) so it might not be possible to meet up during the week. I also just wanted to say to talk to your neighbors often because they like to sell, trade and give items a lot (especially when they have that exclamation and go up to you trying to talk). So talking to your neighbors a decent amount will get you some items you otherwise would have to wait to show up in Nooklings or given by another player. They also will give you tips on how to play the game. Biggest tip: Go to the island at night and catch a lot of beetles. I made over 150k+ in one trip to the island (you have to put items you want to bring back in the basket). Hopefully, the island has opened up for you and if it hasn't then it will soon.
