FFXIII is overrated. Despite the general distaste for the game by the gaming public, it was well reviewed.

I don't see it. FF13 got 82% overall and XIII-2 got 79% (despite reviewers claiming it's better than the first). 

It's not distaste from the gaming public, because it's still very popular. Every hates on it while on the internet because it's the cool thing to do.

Or maybe they hate the game because it's deserving. The game's stream lined nature required what was there to be exceptonal. Frankly that was not the case. There is nothing to distract from the core experience. The core experience was greatly dependant on the battle system and if you didn't like that. You were stuck with a piss poor cast and lacking story.

as I said earlier, overrated things are very rarely assiociated with hate or disgust. It's where you feel a game has underwhelmed the expectations that people set for it. For me, Xenoblade fit this largely due to unfair hype placed on it (a lot Symphonia on Gamecube). So, for something to be rated the worst by everyone, and then overrated still doesn't jive for me.

lol @ anyone who put FF13 as the worst. you either dont play many JRPGs or are plain stupid. sure it may not be great (your opinion) but its oh so far from the worst.

Overrated: White Knight Chronicles, FFXIII

Underrated: Star Ocean TLH International, Disgaea 4

How can anyone consider Final Fantasy 13 an actual RPG?
