Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo abandon Miiverse and integrate Twitter, Facebook and Vine immediately?

I think that's a terrible, TERRIBLE idea. The reason Miiverse is awesome is because it's NOT connected to all that other crap. It's a completely separate service, meaning that I won't get a flood of unwanted video game content on my Facebook, and when I want to talk games I won't get a bunch of pictures of cats. People who own Wii U's have made it clear that Miiverse is one of the outstanding features of the system, and what the author is proposing is completely flushing that down the toilet. The service is always improving, too; it's come leagues just since its launch half a year ago.

I think this is an example of Nintendo going against the grain and scoring. The obvious thing to do would have been to integrate Facebook/Twitter, but they did their own thing and in my opinion it turned out way better.

Very much this ^^^

Nintendo made very clear that Miiverse is a community for us, gamers, where we can discuss anything related to games.. The way they create topics from the games is a well-organized way to find what you want. In this modern era, where we are bombarded with too much information and gazillions of ads (as someone said "why would I want to see pictures of cats?"), Nintendo makes it tighten so it never looses control.

I thought at first it was gimmick, but every minute I'm in love with the Miiverse more and more. It is indeed one of the best features.

Finished writing the wiiU chat came into my mind, that's one feature I still don't use it widely.

Nope Why would they? every WiiU owner has a Miiverse account but not twitter or facebook account. What is vine?

and I dont want Facebook to know what games I play facebook is CIA bullshit.

And btw  Facebook is full of  copy pasta  idiots  posting 1000 year old 4chan crap and thinking they are funny  and fake  attention whore profiles  that also just copy pasta from the web to become famous. And alot of people  posting   " I ate bananas this morning". Or   "I took a shit yesterday"

And females  posting  "whine whine   romantic/drama post to express hurt fellings"

At least Miiverse is moderated. and is 100% gaming or at least 99%

It would be nice to have Twitter integration somewhere else besides WiiUTV

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Miiverse is probably one of my favorite parts about the Wii U, so no, I wouldn't say abandoning it is an idea I'd endorse. If it could be done effortlessly, I wouldn't mind integrating social networking sites, but I don't believe it's anywhere near as important as you're making it out to be.

If anyone enjoys a game enough to the point where they really want to talk about it with their friends, they're likely going to do so whether they can instantly access it from their console or if they have to pull up the website on a laptop. The reason why not many Wii U games have been showing up on these websites is because there aren't that many Wii U games worth mentioning to begin with.

Nintendo's focus should be on adding to what's already looking like a decent second half of the year for the Wii U in terms of its games library, not messing around with social media.

I can use facebook and twitter on the internet browser, and I don't know what vine is. Anyhow, they should keep miiverse. It's one of the best things about the Wii U.
