Yep.

We are extensively using Azure and a good majority of the comments I see about cloud processing is just wrong...
People comparing it with remote play (Gakai), assuming that it requires a lot of bandwith, do not understand that even in a single player game there is a lot of asynchroneous operations going on which are not time sensitive and I can go on.

The only thing that makes sense from these ridiculous comments, is the fact there if you are not connected to the internet... Well obviously you cannot use this processing power. And I can only agree with this, but it is not the issue I see the most in their replies.

And if your "because you say so?" was referring to my comment about Microsoft knowing what they are doing... Well, they are the leader with Amazon in cloud processing/hosting... I may be wrong, but if we stop looking at haters alternate reality, chances that Microsoft knows what they are doing are high...

Have you read Digital Foundry's analysis of MS's claims?  Maybe you should.

Oh, right... You'll say they have no idea what they're talking about and have no understanding of technology?

Not that they say it's impossible though. Just that it's not going to be as big as MS claims.

Please stop putting word in my mouth; I said a good majority of people on forums... I did not say nobody understand it and never talked about this article.
Also this article is right in many areas but also wrong in others.

We are using the Azure to power our game (Silverlight client) and I think I understand how it works better than someone who is just reading the internet (IE: you).
I will not lie and pretend that we are using it for any rendering tasks, but we are using it in many scenarios, mainly for background aysynchroneous tasks, NPCs tasks scheduling (living world) and few other things.

We can arg about Microsoft claim being big or not... But this is exactly my point; haters sticking on PR stuff and disregarding the potential (this is very convenient).. It would be easy to just look at any PR claim (from any companies) and find the claim being a bit over-exagerated (I will not give you some very good exemples from the past years:)).

If this is actually your point, arguing that companies' PR are mainly exagerating their message to the public; I agree with that... But stop pretending that Microsoft is the only one doing that or that this particular one about cloud processing is pure bullshit...

Man Xbox One must be one big piece of sh%t.

For everything they announced about it so far, there is not a single aspect that posters at VGchartz don't have any issues with and can see as a positive.

I still want to see some side by sides.

How am I pretending they're the only ones to do that? If you know that much and I know so little, because i'm just a common internet reader, by all means, prove a point.  You make all those baseless claims without supporting what you're saying...

So... because you say so, was it?

MS claimed the XBO is 10 times more powerful than the 360. And using cloud processing, it will be 40 times more powerful than the 360. Now, PR or not, they said that during their reveal event. So forgive me if I'm skeptical of this, and that you see me as an unknowledgeable person for that.

One thing you fail to read: I don't say that cloud processing won't have any tangible effect on the console. I'm saying it won't have as big an effect as they want people to believe. For reasons clearly elaborated already, thank you.

Something wrong with your eyes or did you reply too quickly without even reading?

Just said I agree with the fact that they are over exagerating (but certainly not completly bullshiting like you seem to believe)... Are you going to just copy/past this in all your replies from now on just because you expect me to tell you that this is pure BS? Will not happen...
And like you with your claims; there is nothing we can do to prove it right or wrong; the only thing is thatin my mind they know better than any internet reader for sure what they are doing :)

As far the supporting my claims; what do you want lol. Me to share some "super cool" code source? or to do a nice demo application?
No; just ignore my claims if you do not believe them.

But again, as an internet reader; I'm pretty sure you can Google for a lot of exemple actually showing off what you can do with cloud processing.

Indeed I know plenty about what you can do with cloud processing. The kind of processing power boost MS is claiming it will give the XBO isn't one of them. Not in the internet's current situation.

But it's good to know that you admit to be blindly believing them.

Not blindy; if someone is blindly taking a position here; it is the internet reader; not I :)

Anyway, I'm glad you admit that you are just sticking on the "PR" message while conveniently ignoring the potential of the "feature" itself...
Typical and expected :)

Typical and expected? I already aknowledged that cloud processing has potential. That's not what I'm skeptical about.

You would have understood this if you weren't so eager to let your ego do all the talk...

Oh boy... Are you looking at yourself in mirror while saying that? :)

I said in my first reply to you that I ackowlegded the fact the companies PR is over exagerating...
But you completly missed it because you were too busy replying with your typical arrogance...

That's the thing... I've never once claimed I doubt the applications of cloud processing. That's what you went on about, trying to say I was saying there I didn't believe in the cloud processing's potential applications or something along those lines. But that was never an issue. Not once. You're playing the apologetics card by bringing the other company's PR talk in the discussion. While the focus of this thread is about MS's claims. Not Sony's. Not Nintendo's...

Saying that cloud processing will make your console 4 times more powerful is a really huge claim. Especially when you say it during the reveal event of you next big product, while you have visibility around the world's networks like never before. So yeah, basically, you agree that I have no reason not to be skeptical of this. So I guess the conversation is over. There's nothing to discuss with you.

You want people to acknowledge that cloud processing has potential, and when they do, you call them off because they don't believe MS's exact claims?  What are you here for? Argue for the sake of arguing?

Me as well, but I do recognize the fact that over the last decade during which Microsoft had consoles on the market, there was much less vapoware technology and fake promises coming from them than the other console manufacturers.

If microsoft says that using the cloud they could generate 4x the performance of Xb1, I actually believe they can...in theory.

In practice and on the ground, Im not so sure...hence I agree screenshots and comparisons will help.
