Forums - Gaming - Am I the only one that doesn't watch TV on TV?

And what happens to the cost of producing TV? It is their content and they have the right to protect it. If they didn't make any money with these fees then they would do something else. The answer is to not watch TV, not to just steal it

I'm still paying for it though. As I said, I pay $160/month.

Am I now terrible because they already got my money and I choose to not have to deal with more commercial than actual TV show? At some point enough is enough.

When I go home, I will be watching tons of TV on TV, even if now I watch TV through online on demand services (all legal)

I don't steal and intend to watch TV as it is meant

The only bad thing I do is to watch Netflix USA occasionally

I just don't understand why so many people don't have a problem with illegal streams. You should probably become a PC gamer then since piracy is much easier

Look at the alternative. 5-10 minutes TV, 5 minutes commercials, 5-10 minutes TV, 5 minutes commercials.

Streaming online = No commercials.

its not just that, people can watch what they want when they want. you dont have to wait until a certain hour to watch something, if you are late for 5 minutes you dont miss the first 5 minutes of the show. if something comes up you can just pause and watch it later. its just so much more convenient.

i download illegaly because there is literally no way for me to watch these shows legally. where i live they dont show the latest season of the walking dead, all the DVD's here are pirated anyways and if i do find a real copy they are just to expensive. when these companies try bother give me an oppertuinity for me to watch something legally, then i just might think about it. (also there is no netflix where i live)

There isn't anything wrong with him watching a stream over the internet versus actually on TV since he's already paying for the content.

It's like ROMs; if you have the actual game it isn't illegal to download it.

Watch the adverts. Technically he is doing nothing wrong and not affecting anything, but it is clearly gaming the system.

I've never paid for cable before. Right now I only use Netflix and my wife uses Hulu on top of that. The cable industry has a term for people like me and others here, cord cutters. It is kind of putting strain on the industry as people move away from live tv and cable subscriptions. The fact that MS put this feature front and center in their unveil is beyond me. It is almost like if Sony concentrated on music CD playback and pushing the PS4 as a home music theater system.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Can't be bothered to sit around through commercials and/or waiting until 10pm to watch a TV show when I need to be up for work at 4:30am.

Maybe it's time for the system to change.

So if I take a piss during the commerical break I'm now "gaming the system?"

What an absurd argument you make.
