Well, it was fun while it lasted! The HD collection did 110k on the PS3 so I doubt we'll see anything close to impressive from the Wii U version.

Yakuza is kinda falsely advertised. Yakuza is not an open world game. Think about what it be like if Final Fantasy 7 all took place in Midgar. The game is extremely fun and awesome still though.

Not very similar. It is open world, but it's not a very big world. Every time you go into a fight, it cuts away to it similar to a JRPG. The combat is nothing like Batman, more like a modernization of a classic beat 'em up. No vehicles, either.
It is, in all honesty, a very clunky and primitive series of games. But it's also bursting with charm and amazing characters and general ridiculousness, and that's why I love it.
Sucks that it will be Japan only though. I'd gladly be a test subject if the collection made it to Europe...

This is what I don't understand. How can such a game even be a test? What would be good sales for it? 30k first week, 50-60k lifetime? Would that be enough to convince them to pursue the series further on the Wii U? I doubt it, so what are they expecting from this "experiment"?
It really makes me think there's something to the rumors that Nintendo is paying some people to stick anything, anything at all on the Wii U until they can get some games out for it. Stuff like Yakuza 1 & 2 can't cost them much, so why not?
After all of those "test" games from the Wii, I think Wii U owners are going to be very reluctant to buy the HD collection.

Badgenome Is correct it does have charm and amazing characters , but the clunkiness is starting to grate , I bought the spin off dead souls and after awhile the clunkiness became a real turn off .
Research shows Video games help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot
