no the less mainstream gamers the console has the better just look at Wii and PS360 since gaming is "cool" now all those games became mainstream with low quality standards (albeit high production value) with hand holding with boring gameplay because everything is the same etc.

Everything is simplified so that even mentally retarded people can master all the games. ( I am talking about idiots)

"successful" consoles make niche games go extinct and I love niche titles because those are the best ones. And since all publishers see that niche doesnt make as much money as mainstream stuff niche titles wont be supported.

And I hate that hub worlds in Mario or the overworld in Zelda / Metroid Prime were simplified into "maps" or levels you chose..... mainstreaming is the worst that happened to gaming since DLC.

To be honest, not really. Gaming is sort of dead to me as it is plus the industry have already crashed, now it come down to the titanic slowly sinking as people hop on raft boats.

I think it would bother Nintendo. As a company, I don't think they'll be happy seeing their current system selling far less than the last one and consequently selling less software as wel.

Gamecube is my favourite console of all time ( though Wii U may surpass it in the future). Many people didnt like it, but i liked the way Nintendo experimented with their franchises at thet time. Like Fludd and the setting to Sunshine, the cartoony cel shading of Zelda and bringing Metroid into a 3D FPS.
I hope Ninty have a few surprises for us Wii U fans..I cant wait.

ps- regardless what Wii U sells, Nintendo will generate enough profit from it to make the whole thing worthwhile...im confident it will do well :)

Right now, the console is too expensive for me. However, in time I intend to own one, as I always do since I have this obsession with Zelda games. So, as long as they keep giving me Zelda, I will continue to buy.

Unless of course that shit is another Choo-Choo Zelda.
