I'm gonna guess that this is a Jim Sterling article. It has that seedy, tabloid-esque feel to it, and the quotes did not match the paraphrasing at all.

Record profits, market share gains, doing great in the #1 console market. I don't think lifetime sales matter to MS as much as a gaming fan.
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
Thats exactly how MS baited gamers away fromm the Playstation and then left them hanging in development halfway through the generation. They know they need them and they know if what they deliver is good people will buy it.
