Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One breaks pre-order records at Blockbuster UK

I'm sure the bar was set very high. Blockbuster is the go-to retail chain for video games after all!

Xbox One is getting really good response and coverage from press in the UK. Day after reveal Xbox One was on BBC 6'Oclock news. With the report stating that Micosofts console was shedding the kiddy image consoles have and becoming much more than just games. BBC refferred to it as the Iphone 1 of the console market.

PS4 in comparison had no coverage in the news AT ALL.

Also at GAME where I pre ordered my Xbox One and 3 games Xbox One is promoted heavily with massive posters already. PS4 had a small sign behind the tills.

Seems like the interent negativity doesnt matter 1 small inch.

On the flip side I wont buy any sony products for at least 6 years. Their finanncial situation worries me and I wont buy a product that might not exist or bee supported in 6 years if they go bust. And as they are not allowed to borrow money for a minimum of 10 years, thats worrysome.

But who uses google these days ? Oh, wait

Well thats subjective.

We don't know much about PS4. We know a lot (negative things) about Xbox1. Why google Xbox1 when all the negative news is at your fingertips lol

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

A lot of people research about Afghanistan. I bet that majority of them want to go over there.

I think this post from N4G puts things in a more realistic perspective.

" In the UK where this article was based, Blockbuster does have a pre-order available for the Xbox One for 20 pounds. So how do the pre-order's for the PS4 compare? Oh, they're not taking pre-orders of the PS4 at this time. Just check out the Blockbuster UK website. The US Blockbuster site doesn't take pre-orders at all. This article also don't see it necessary to provide numbers.

Here's another tidbit of information for you from their website. Blockbuster's online store in the UK went live in 2009. So, prior to that if they even took pre-orders, you would have had to have placed your orders in the store. That means the only console that Blockbuster could have offered pre-orders on, online would have been the Wii-U."

ROFL.

Search Engine results mean noting. WP8 had 3 times the google searches over Iphone 5 between August 2012 and December 2012. Are you gonna tell me Iphone 5 was outsold by WP8??????????????????????????????

Search results mean noting. PREORDERS MEAN EVERYTHING!!!

The fact that Blockbuster claim Xbox One beats all other preorders  PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, 360, Dreamcast etc.

NUFF SAID.

MEGA ROFL.

Xbox One is only preorderable through the reetail outlets. SO IS PS4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Niether PS4 or The One can be preordered online in the UK from BB.

So in short nEOGAF users are smoking some serious SH*T.

BOTH PS4 and The One are only preorderable from Retail outlet Blockbusters.

ROFL.
