I sense some butthurt coming, as there's a Vita version and not a 3DS one, and also due to the fact this game was meant to be a wii u exclusive.

Why announce this now and not back in Feb? Who on earth is in charge of this fiasco?

They'll probably release a 3DS version anyway, even if it means totally gimping it (if that is necessary).
Wow I just saw that they're saying the Vita version will be the definitive version of the game!! All Wii U "exclusive" (lol) features plus extra vita levels.
That's a very clear message Ubisoft are sending to Nintendo.

I highly doubt Ubisoft is "sending a message" to Nintendo with this at all.

You could be right and I may be looking too deeply in to this.
But cancelling exclusivity, delaying the already finished game and then releasing a superior version on a competitors handheld (with a comparable userbase) while completely ignoring Nintendo's own handheld seems to me like Ubisoft are making it very clear that they are firmly in Sony's corner this gen.

It doesn't have to mean anything to Nintendo at all, and could just be that Sony is giving money to Ubisoft.
It would be different if the Wii U version was canned.

Ubisoft cancelled exclusivity because they realized that it being multiplat could make them more money. They delayed it because they didn't want to market it twice. They probably will make a 3DS versions a few months later, like they did with Origins. Ubisoft are clearly supporting Nintendo, with all of the multiplats they are bringing to it, even when it is struggling.
