Just curious.......PC gaming uses DRM standard. I mean, I can't give my copy of Starcraft to a friend because the game is tied to my computer.

PC gaming is the master race apparently......

So what's with the double standard?

Well, first of all, there is more piracy on PC.

Then, well, most pcs are connected to the internet right now, and people don't see reason to have a pc without internet, so always on is less of a hassle.

And finally, the steam sales.

Oh, and pc gamers are rich.

Hmm, piracy leads to more console sales...pirating a Xbox game means little if you don't have the console.

MS cracks down on any pirated console connecting to Live....basically you'd have to buy another one.

PC doesn't get bad hype that third world internet impacts its gaming, when Xbox is in the same league as it. Interesting.

With DRM, theoretically, MS can do steam sales of its own.

So DRM = rich people. Got it

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

No, DRM developped because of the piracy, and piracy is the best marketing for games.

The console and PC markets are too different, and well, gamers are proud of this difference.

Plus everyone I know here in belgium that does have a 360 bought the 360 because it was easier to crack.

lol im starting to see why MS is doing this, since piracy will enable it to sell the console internationally, and DRM will keep actual physical sales high enough to make profit at the same time (while profiting on used game resales too).

Good for them, really. I'm just not sure how much of a difference this makes for the gamers side of the bargain, I'm betting this is more for gamers to buy into them.

the difference is that Sony has yet to annouce or comfirm DRM for PS4 so it's some kind of fail that is only on Xbox One...DRM has been on PC for so long it's ridiculous to think that XBox One having it will hurt gamers

The fact that they aren't denying it is a little troubling.

""Humbled by the outpouring of passionate PlayStation fans and their willingness to talk to us directly. Please know that we hear you. <3""

If that doesn't tell you anything, I don't know what will. Read between the lines.

They did not listen when Sony was the first manufacturer ever to release online passes for their first party games.

You know what the crazy part is, that people seem to ignore the fact that Sony implemented project 10 dollar, they the ones that actually patented DRM on their console while MS has done neither but some how Sony gets  pass.  At this time, Sony either has DRM or they do not.  At this stage they are waiting to release that Info and they will let the Xbone take all the heat before they state how they do it.  They will make it seem like its fair but it will be the same.

People keep forgetting that Sony sells a lot of content that they want to protect.  From movies to music, TV shows and games.  Sony was the company to put a root kit on peoples PC if no one remember that whole fiasco.  Sony is not this altriistic company but instead a coporation just like MS.  I would highly be surprised if Sony does not have DRM on their console and it will be simular to what MS is doing.  The difference will be that MS will have everyone install the game on their console while I believe Sony is not going this route.

Are you kidding? MS didn't implement this?

You have to pay a yearly fee to have access to online play since day one, on the 360... It in turn allows them to know if your copy is legit or not.  -__-

Don't put too much expectations on this. Pirates are the most unpredictable people. Plus there are starting to become meaner (Element4l dev was sad they didn't put the "Support the devs if you like the game" in the nfo of the game)

Plus, knowing MS, piracy will never become part of their strategy (windows store, game for windows)

And there are DRMs that actually counter piracy (Everyone is still waiting for Simcity 5 crack)

Though I am for gamers rights on their own purchases, I had no issue buying and owning Starcraft 2 to be completely fair.
