Street Fighter comes to mind. It was animated though, not sure on your "serious" standards!!
Mortal Kombat also.

It could have been the next avatar. Now it's some pile of shit, xbox only web show that nobody will know or care about lol.
#fail
It is troubling that it will be only available on Xbox Live.
I was hoping a actual major TV channel for every country. I would LOVE to have Halo tv series end up on AMC and be the next Breaking Bad or Walking Dead.

Offcourse! Why not? As long as the lore remains true, I would love for Halo to get a wider audience and the attention it deserves.
I mean, it is hard to top breaking bad, but Walking Dead gets by on zombies and character development. Halo can easily do that, just replace zombies with covenant lol

You think MC would be able to avoid the question of "Why does he never take off his helmet" from non-Lore observers?
I'm gonna be controversial here and say I don't think that Halo is anywhere near as good as Walking Dead let alone Breaking Bad. Not in a million years.

This series has not said the timeline of the tv series, but if it were during spartan training when they were kids, it would be ok to show Master Chief in that regard (his CGI self is in the opening Halo 4 cutscene). As for adult John, his description has been described in novels for over a decade. You could find an actor that resembles it, but it wouldn't be the official face of the video games, just a actor portraying the look as best he can.
I think Jackson would do a great job with the movie. But as anyone who watches a really good TV show like Dexter or Game of Thrones, you can do much more with a good TV show than you can in one Movie (or even 3). You can make a long drawn out connected story.
But you could also make Terra Nova, sigh.
I hope Spielberg's involvement in Halo TV is no more than Ex Producer (like Smash) and most of the same team from Forward Unto Dawn are involved. It was a good narrative, style, well acted work. One section picked up where the other one left off. It could work well.
Or it could be Halo: Goonies "Little Gruntie Phones Home!" and ruin the whole franchise.
I've been down for a series since FUD and the Halo Universe is big and diverse enough to pull it off. I'm not really worried about the Universe though, I'm more worried about how it's handled. Maybe Blomkamp can do the series XD
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
