No and if anyone says otherwise they are smoking something funny. Whats better? Selling your console on two systems while getting profits from initial sales of both and used sales of one with little effort or getting profits from initial sales of one and used sales of one

No. 3rd parties can't afford not to release their games on PS4, simple as that.

Winner ^^^

Consoles that don't have such DRM will perform better than those that do, in terms of sales. If Sony doesn't go with the idiotic DRM, and MS sticks with their plans, third parties might WANT to make games only for the MS console, but when early multiplatform titles perform far better on PS4 due to both bigger install base (as consumers will prefer the system without DRM) and game sales relative to install base (XBO owners won't be able to afford as many new games due to lack of strong used game market), third parties will be forced to keep supporting the PS4.

And if both of them go the DRM route, expect Wii U support to grow as the only system without DRM attracts gamers.

And before anyone goes "But Wii U doesn't have games", I'm going to point out that the Wii U currently has more games than either other system, and there's already a big lineup for E3, without factoring in games that haven't been announced for the system but will be coming.

Not at all. Actually Sony is in a position of strength now in wich surveys give the ps4 90% of the next gen market without wii u.
Sony has 3rd parties by the balls after microsofts mess up. No support and your games will fail sales wise because the consumer is gonna be blocking the xone. Theres alot more money to lose by not supporting sony.

I honestly cannot tell if your joking or not. Especially with the survey part.

I believe he might be referring to the Gamespot PS4 vs Xbox One twitter battle. Not exactly an iron-clad source, but it's probably a good indicator of how reactions are tending, given that, six months ago, the same twitter battle would have been close to 50-50.

The money earned from a second platform would be far more than the amount "lost" by second hand games and piracy.

DRM or no DRM devs will be making games for PS4.

3rd parties would lose more money by ignoring 2/3 of the market than by people pirating games

Depends on which publishers drop support. If EA does what they are doing to WiiU, it will be a big deal.

However, I think it's clear there will be some measure against used games.

If EA does to the PS4 what they are doing to the Wii U, we can expect, within about two years, that most of EA's board have resigned, that they're selling off assets, and that Take Two now has the Fifa license.

I find it unlikely that EA would be that stupid. But having said that, there's not a lot of evidence in recent times to suggest otherwise.

I had a good idea, if Sony wants some DRM stuff, they could implement a tax over trophies along with online-pass. So if a player cares about throphies-multiplayer, I think it is fair to pay a tax to be able to win trophies and have access too multiplayer with his used game.

It's better than blocking the entire single-player game.
