Consoles that don't have such DRM will perform better than those that do, in terms of sales. If Sony doesn't go with the idiotic DRM, and MS sticks with their plans, third parties might WANT to make games only for the MS console, but when early multiplatform titles perform far better on PS4 due to both bigger install base (as consumers will prefer the system without DRM) and game sales relative to install base (XBO owners won't be able to afford as many new games due to lack of strong used game market), third parties will be forced to keep supporting the PS4.

And if both of them go the DRM route, expect Wii U support to grow as the only system without DRM attracts gamers.

And before anyone goes "But Wii U doesn't have games", I'm going to point out that the Wii U currently has more games than either other system, and there's already a big lineup for E3, without factoring in games that haven't been announced for the system but will be coming.
