Isn't Fifa bigger on the PlayStation? I don't think having something so minor as what Microsoft has announced as a exclusive mode for fifa will have a major impact on the sales of the console. As for the NFL yeah I do agree with this title.

It's easy, Ten years ago when american-manufactured cars where technologically 30 years behind then Japanese and European's, they still sold like hotcakes in the United States. Americans are the most stupid, bias consumers in the world. Now UK is anybodys game.

Yeah, it' s bigger on Playstation, that and GT is why I think Playstation consistantly beats 360 in europe, and I don't think what Microsoft announced will have a major impact.

I just think that's why they tried it though.  They're hoping it has a bigger impact than it probably will.

Really they should of trojan horsed it.  Threw millions and millions at EA to get Fifa exclusivity for a year, and make it up in console sale profits and game sale profits.

Microsoft is really good at giving the Xbox brand "perceived value" similar to what Apple does for their products. By that I mean, people think Xbox is the "trendy" console. Most people I know have one "because my friends do".

It's no secret that I dislike both the 360 and Microsoft, but i'm not even talking about the QUALITY of the 360 vs the PS3. UNFORTUNATELY most "gamers" in the US only care about what is popular atm. Most of the people I know who SAY they prefer the 360 barely know the difference between a multiplat and an exclusive game. They just assume the 360 is better because it's more heavily advertised and they are too lazy to actually go take a look at what Sony or Nintendo offer.

Before anyone gets pissed off, i'm not even talking about real gamers. I'm talking about casuals, and to be honest Microsoft does a better job of, convincing, casuals that the Xbox brand is the best.

Basically, people in the US are superficial and simply jump on whatever is popular to stay socially relevant. Microsoft targets those people more than Sony does.

Also i'm from the US, and my opinions come from what I notice about people here. Even some of my very close friends are like that :/

That being said, this time Sony isn't launching a year later or at a much higher price. It also won't have to play catch up with online features (the important ones anyway, lol). I think Sony will have an easier time worldwide and even if it loses the US, I see the gap being much smaller.

I live in the US as well, so this isn't a outsider looking in situation. I agree with your statements.

And I think some in this thread are miss understanding me. I am not saying its improbable the XBO takes US, I am saying it is no sure bet like NIntendo/Sony dominating Japan is. US consumer base is very fickle.

Because the US seems to eat whatever Microsoft comes up with given enough advertisment. We can speculate why but i dont want to injury any susceptabilities.

The UK i dont think is a given.

Simple exercise:

1) Think of all the reasons why the PS3 was going to win America (before E3 2006).
2) Consider how it turned out.

With a little bit of common sense it's clear that the Xbox One isn't poised to win America, because reasons like brand, multiplatform games and non-gaming features are no guarantees. Heck, the PS3 had much more going for it than the Xbox One at this point, yet it still failed hard.

"But Microsoft can throw money at it, if all else fails."

Long live the Zune.

This^

and WOW, your comment wasn't even facetiously ironic either.

MS fans sometimes think they cannot fail but they can and frequently do....as do all businesses. They are just a bit more viscious than most on trying to stay afloat. Sony had the US Pre 360. PS3 had many foibles at the start which gave way to 360. With this kind of initiative they are pushing with the XBO, there are bound to be several holes poking through their chances.

Yeah definitely. Lets take respawn exclusive rumor into account for a second, if this is true than they have obviously invested lots of money to have this as a exclusive. The problem with this is that this titles is brand new and still has to prove itself. If I was Microsoft I would've invested in Fifa for a year exclusivity rather than a new ip.  This would move alot more units than a new ip.

I don't think it's going to win anything except my grattitude for showing people what the game industry actually wants to do.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I dont know anyone that thinks this lol
