In case you somehow missed it, Microsoft announced their brand new console, the Xbox One a few days ago. And while most of its features were made public, there’s one thing Microsoft barely mentioned: availability. Right now we know very little about the pricing and launch date.

However, that doesn't mean you can’t still pre-order it. If you’re an early adopter and the Xbox One caught your eye, you can pre-order one right now from Amazon.de for €599.00. Of course this is by no means an official price, it’s just a placeholder until Microsoft announces the real cost later this year. But if you pre-order now Amazon guarantees you will receive the best price once that becomes public.

There’s also no shipping date, though Amazon.com does list December 31^st as a release date. Again though, that’s a placeholder pointing at the fact that Microsoft officially said the console would be launched by the end of the year. If we were to take an educated guess we’d say the Xbox One will hit markets in time for the winter holidays.

A better place-holder then the $999.99's I've seen!! LOL!

Edit: It's $899 in Australia! LOL. They focussed on keeping the price down yet with all the functionality, people assume it's going to be another $599 US DOLAR, (or worse) slip up.

I'm ready to order but I'm still weighing between a PAL or NTSC version.... any word on the zoning this generation ???

yesterday i also saw dragon age 3 to preorder but it's not there anymore. probably something ea or microsoft didn't want to see to preorder before e3 lol

if microsoft price their system at 599.99.. it means they got too cocky like sony post ps2

placeholder. that's just the price amazon is sure will be the highest possible price. the games and the controller are all 99.99 right now.

I used to take my 360 to a PAL zone and never had problems playing my NTSC games on a PAL console. None whatsoever.

yeah I know I have an ntsc one right now in a pal zone..... but I still buy my games from USA right (use to live there for the pas decade)

but are you saying that PAL game DVDs are working on a NTSC 360 or vice versa...

I don't see how a next gen console around 600 bucks at launch can be expensive.... it's the price of a flagship smartphone at launch....
