Someone on Neogaf set this rumor into the world. First we had the rumor that Retro was working on something everyone wants them to make, then the guy from GAF said this game was Star Tropics. I am a big Nintendo fan and never have heared of Star Tropics before, neither have I seen this game been mentioned anywhere in the last 10 years. I highly doubt Star Tropics is the new game by Retro, but yes - the rumor exists.

That's because you're a youngling. It was a really fun NES game, the dungeon layout was similar to Zelda, the controls were a bit weird but all in all it was a challenging, weird and enjoyable game.

Instead of having a conference, Nintendo will have one (or several) Nintendo Directs for us.

At the same time, they will also host several closed meetings with the press, to let they try thegames, and the business side of the industry (stores).

The intention with all these, is that gamers that watch E3 have what they want, more info about the games through the ND without the boring stuff of the conferences. At the same time, the press will have direct access to the games to try them and the stores will be informed about sales data, future launch dates, promotions and other info that we don't care as much.

If it works will be a win for everyone. And if it fails, it will fail hard.
