What is that supposed to mean...?

I dunno, but a tons of screens and trailers are coming out for a bunch of games right now, so they might mean that. Also the demos will be playable starting now.

Anybody heard of Yoshi's New Island before?

The actual E3 trade show starts this afternoon. This is where everyone gets to play the games and get cool swag!

Also, I believe that the media only Wii U Software Showcase starts in an hour and a half (10:30 a.m. PST). It'll be interesting to see what they'll show off there.

No, they are releasing the same games over and over.  That not being original is a fact.  It is like the sun rising, it may be a new day every time but it's the same sun, please don't try and pretent it's a new, fresh original sun coming up each day.

Let me guess, you liked Sony's though? They have the same games too by your logic. Even the new IPs are practically the same based on that reasoning.

Don't try that generalised empty argument.  New IPs are the same?  Worthless waste of time explaining why that is a dumb argument.  Reply, with more nonsense, I won't care, neither will anyone with a brain.

As expected with this reply. A new IP that plays similar to another game (Beyond compared to Heavy Rain) isn't "innovative" in gameplay. I want to play a game, not a movie. I can tell there is no reasoning with you, so good day to you sir.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

For me the Direct was good but not great.

Pros:

Mario Kart was the biggest pleasant surprise.  It's got the hang-gliders, the bikes, driving up walls and upside down, beautiful visuals... couldn't have been better, IMHO.

X, W101, Wind Waker and Bayonetta all looked great.

DKCR and Smash looked fantastic (Mega Man!).

Cons:

Zero surprises aside from Mega Man in Smash and DKC, which leads me to...

... this is all we get from Retro!?  I hope the rumors of them being busy building engines for WiiU pays off soon.

SM3DW looks like a lot of fun, but the presentation is quite disappointing to me.  It reminds me exactly of how the NSMB DS to Wii compared.  Looks almost exactly like the 3DS game assets - like Nintendo played it safe (and lazy) with the presentation.  Come on, guys.  After 3D Marios like 64 and the Galaxies you can't expect us to settle for this on WiiU.  Still, the game does look like it'll be very entertaining, which is what matters of course.

Thanks for the heads up. Do you know if the Pokemon Round Table and the Wii U Software Showcase will be streamed?

Judging from the reactions in this thread and others, it looks like many Nintendo fans have finally come to the realisation that the Wii U is actually a GC successor, not a Wii successor. Yes, people. That is what it means to be disappointed. Get used to it, because Nintendo is stuck with this brick for at least five years.

I am ahead of the curve, so I can look at these games and say that I am looking forward to most of them. Smash is trash, like usual. Still no Kim Possible, still no buy.

Smash is genius, you comment is trash!

I just saw the trailer for that on Nintendo's YouTube Channel. It was shown on one of Nintendo's other Direct videos. Don't know which, though!

(Nice that it got an official title.)

You are off base if you don't think Nintendo is innovative.  The industry itself is stale with FPS, Nintendo keeps the Industry from becoming ridiculously repetitive.  But I do think their direct was lackluster due to the Mario 2.5D and Retro nonsense.
