No Mario Kart till 2014 hurts!  Then again, maybe there are smart not going against 2 new consoles this year with Mario Kart or Smash.  Perhaps Nintendo can OWN 2014 holiday with some solid bundles.

Hard to beat the hype of a new console, let alone 2.

Positives:
Smash made me happy just seeing it
X looks GREAT!

Negatives:
Retro are a shadow of the Metro developers. Really disappointing that all they can manage is a 2d platformer every three years.
No third party games other than the scraps promised when Wii U wasn't completely dead.
Nintendo's output is becoming a real concern. Clearly understaffed and unable to support their own platform.

they really should release mario kart for the holiday season. that is the game families will buy a wii u for as christmas gift.

but damn, nintendo is such a lovely company.

So to summarise....

"2014" very prominent.
Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros look amazing, as does X but I'm less interested in that one.
I'm happy for a new DKC, but if that's all Retro have been doing for 3 fecking years, then they deserve a slapping.
3D Mario looks good but not great.

Fairly dull, but the X trailer was really nice and Mega Man in Smash Bros. is cool.

This Nintendo E3 Direct gets a 8/10 from me. No surprises, but great, solid gameplay and jam packed with tons of trailers.

Also, it was ALL GAMEPLAY. Not just CGI.

God that stream was crappy. Disappointed in Mario 3D World. X looked awesome. Smash looked good, but the 3DS version didn't look appealing at all to me. And mega man is back!!

8/10, same as I gave Sony's showing.

Strong lineup, but most of the best titles are scheduled for 2014. No Mario Kart this year is a huge bummer considering how AWESOME it looked.
