Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One voice command weren't in real time

Hi everyone. Good t be here.

I have seen some pretty bad fanboyism the past 5 months. since Sony reveal. Really bad showing from many ( proclaimed ) gamers. This is nothing but more propaganda. hat if his nerves gave him that reaction everytime he was gong to use Kinect?

He may well be doing what is claimed. But its important to note there is NO proof. Where was he clicker whe he is clearly using his voice with both his hads ouside his trousers? What about when he is using 2 hands to demonstrate?

For me to many people are looking for things from either side to try an poke fun. SAD!

How I saw both Reveals.

Sony:

Operatng system sounds better than PS3. Share button is nice. Would like to see if it has multitasking or instant switching.

No console shown. No biggy, but would have been cool. Need more info on its multimedia functions. So far not that impressive.

The games shown were all pretty average except Watchdogs. Wasnt impressed to hear Infamous ( dont like the franchise ) is in develpment and Killzone ( yawn, thouht 2 an 3 are average shooters that are pretty ) took center stage. New driving game sounds nice. But in terms of games there wasnt alot of promise. I get the feeling PS4's first year. Hopefull ony show alot more promise at E3.

Worried about third party support ( mainly exclusives ) and the controller also worries me.

Nice specs.

Microsoft.

Operating system updated. Love that Windows 8 apps can be ported due to Windows 8 Kernel in Xbox One. Mulimedia functions look far head of competition. Huge amount of servers for Live. Multitasking very impressive.

Fee for used games sucks. Bu inevitable. Anyone who uses Steam had to get used to this no trading games. Just sooner than Id like.

Games show promise. Good to hear Microsoft backing exclusives. Even though we have to really wait till E3.
oved he look of Quantum Break. Forza 5 obviously arguably the biggest release title EVER. Microsoft Studios are Publishing 15 Exclusives in he first 12 months. 8 are new IP's. akes me very happy asan avid gamer.

Personally although Microsoft showed less game footage, I am more excited about Xbox One exclusive games tha Sony's. Sony didnt seem interested in much outside Infamous and Killone. 2 of the worst exclusives Ive played inrecent years. Much rather Ratchet And Clank or God Of War.

ALso it appears third party are stcking closer o Microsoft. whether thats moneyhatting or not who knows. But EA, Activision are already in bed with Microsoft. Whos next???????????

actually I think it's more likely that it was real, because it responds to the smartphone inputs and the grabbing gesture (with both hands - no pocket-clicker)

if that part was a movie he activated before he must have pretty good timing, which you usually don't when you are on stage (from my own experience time seems to move much faster when presenting something)

I wouldn't be so sure.

o_O that gif is just reversed after it goes to full screen video, as you can see in the video feed that's playing

that doesn't mean I rule out that sth like that happened during the conference (I won't watch that part of the conference again *yawn*), but this gif certainly is no proof

Oh shit! Fuck those GAF assholes, lol!

Nice catch!

I don't know why people actually think GAF has any more authority than any other site...

It isn't our job to prove something works. They are the ones trying to sell us a product. You really saying I cannot doubt something unless I buy the product that was staged and not live demonstrated to me?

Sounds a bit backwards if you ask me.

See edit from my last post. It highlights the other glaring issues with the product and not just the overall demonstration.

Let's wait for E3 and hand's-on-videos - then no one can fake anything and we will hear how it really works.

Of course I am going to wait until E3 before making any final judgement, as I have said many times, but as of right now I see issues and examples of where the demonstrations couldn't possibly be real time.

Overall though I am just worried about the games.

Not to defend MS but that gif proves nothing, look closely.

Lafiel already schooled me on my noobness.

That happens if you put things on the list that aren't lies and listen to every biased opinion shown as facts. Time will tell the truth, no big list, not your faulty memory (no offense! shows only your list is false and too big), not the usual suspects on this forum. Time.

It was obvious that the show wasn't real time when channels were changing so fast. Just because you connect a cable box to a XBox One doesn't magically make the hardware in the cable box better. Anyone who uses a cable box knows full well that it cannot change channels that quickly.

Also if you watchted the event you can see a segment where the presenter uses hand gestures to stretch to full screen and the screen shrinks again without him doing anything, causing him to attempt to play catchup to cover up his error.

History tells us that MS conferences are all staged and you cannot really take anything at face value.

I could have just been a fake cable chanel. I was fairly sure that none of those shows were actually on live, it was just a demonstation. I am willing to believe that the One really does work like that

Having said that, what I really want to see is a man (or woman) with a controller playing a game on stage

I think this is what we can expect from E3 for both Sony and MS. No pc-hardware which is similar to console-tech, no fake-demos, hands-on gaming on the final hardware.

The fact that it is just an overlay and not a cable box replacement, how could it enable you to change channels faster than the hardware in your cable box would actually allow?

May I remember render-targets? :) No, really, it is way more safe to show what it can do but given the big audience and the possibility of many sounds disturbing the voice-recognition I'd do the same. You *never* know what's real on presentations of tech until you can try it yourself so both console-reveals can be fake or not.

Why are you acting so insecure? He didn't mention Sony at all. We're talking about MS here. They're the ones who were cought faking. Not that it's such a bit deal, because of the nature of such events.

If Sony had messed up, people would have complained and made silly videos about it just the same. In fact, they did. Because Sony didn't show the console at its reveal event. -__-

But that's still irrelevent to the topic here.
