Sony won by a land slide, why? its simple. sony won the press. sony and ms didnt need to sell the console to gamers now they need to do that right at launch. what they needed to win is the press. Sony won the press over and now they will be talking about how better the PS4 is and how better the event was. Now until E3 most new about the consoles will be more positive towards PS4 and more negative towards X1 |
I think you need to check the main stream media and not the dedicated gaming blogs.
Your main stream media is crowing about the Xbox One.
The gaming media isn't negative as much as uncertain. Microsoft didn't really offer clarity. They weren't ready to answer questions that they should have been prepared to provide a consistent, uniform response. Instead the right hand had no clue what the left hand was doing.
For Microsoft it was exactly what they wanted. A general demonstration of what the console can do. The problem is that everyone was expecting more. Generally speaking, moe specifics and less ambiguity.
That being said, I think Microsoft did enough. They could have DEFINITELY done more, but I think they did enough. The problem now is that E3 becomes hyper-critical to the successful launch of the Xbox One.
Sony doesn't have this problem. E3 for Sony will be a cake walk. 1/2 of E3 will be about the games coming to the PS4. The rest will be divided up between the PS3, and Vita.
