Forums - Gaming - Could XboxOne disrupt the market by only targeting non gamers

Can the xbox change the console market ?

Yes 15 18.07%

No 27 32.53%

Lol 25 30.12%

I'm a core gamer and wan... 16 19.28%

Total:83

Yesterday, we all saw the apocalypse falling on microsoft Xbox brand. Almost only bad reactions, and polls showin 89% people against the xbox one.

But in the light of the morning, a new tendance is showing : It seems that casual and non gamers are excited about the console.

Do you think the market could change because of this ?

I mean, If xbox sell 100 millions consoles, and only 3 games per console for example, would it be a real failure.

And does the excitation from non gamers really mean they'll buy the console ?

Wii started it, Xbone will continue it.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

No, wii adressed casual and core gamers. They don't attract core gamers right now.

Nintendo was a strong core audience brand. Xbox is just a newborn

lol no. Having a wiimote as a standard controller was a dead giveaway it wasn't mean for core.

The non-game features don't work outside of the US (NFL, music, TV, films, stable internet connection). So it can't possibly sell 100m just on the strength of those.

I tought the same during the conference. I'm from a small country, no way they invest in that lol. But if the console works in america, american developper will go with it. And european loves american games as much as japanese one.

Xbox One = American box.

If the system does become a success it will only be because of non-gaming features, and will be only in the U.S.

It's going to be expensive, and try to sell in an economic depression.

It's not gonna get the low end customer. So we can safely rule out any disruption.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure there are some features on the 360 (all entertainment stuff) that are not in Canada. So if the English neighbor country doesn't have this features then Europe and Japan will be much worse.

So far this looks like an American box, nothing more, nothing less.

I'm a non gamers/casual?
