Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft spending 400 MILLION DOLLARS for the NFL deal!

Wow, a whopping $400 million on an entertainment feature.

And they also announced a Halo TV-series with Spielberg.

Imagine how many hardcore games that could have given us over the same five years.

Seems like MS is making a pre-emptive strike against Apple in the battle for the living room.

We just have to accept that Xbox One is trying to become a general entertainment box rather than a dedicated gaming machine. But as a gamer it's hard for me to accept since I have zero interest in anything that's not games when I turn on my console.

Maybe this is the right way to go into the future gen. Honestly I hope for success for Xbox One but I don't think this NFL deal was a wise business move. Like Molyneux said on IGN last nite, it's very difficult and risky to try to deliver top quality at so many different areas.

Us two? None. You've abandoned Xbox and I was never there to begin with. We aren't losing out on anything.

Traitor.

Com'on, at least let me pretend.

I must at least have earned the right for some inside criticism with my betrayal.

Worth every penny. Probably the best investment they could have made.

Given all the details coming out about the console, spending this amount of cash on an entertainment feature just further proves how out of touch MS is. They need to be focusing on games. All these bonus feature are nice for the mass market, but the mass market isn't going be the consumer for the console initially. Microsoft's reveal sold the PS4. The amount 360 gamers I know that are looking at the PS4 right now is crazy.

If this was the middle ages you'd be branded on your cheek for your betrayal and publically displayed

We shall see after E3

Spending that on games would have been so much better. This is what sucks about MS, they spend quick bucks on exclusive DLC and timed exclusives and this bullshit instead of actually trying.

Just a lot of money to check stats and fantasy league stuff it seems. As usual most Nintendo/Sony/PC gamers just don't see the value while the MS fans here are defending the move like it was their money.

So first you need to spend $70-100/month to get the ESPN or other sports channel. Than you have to buy a seperate cable or adapter that goes into your XONE. To access the stuff you already paid with flick of your fingers you need to further spend $5 for XBOX Live.

I mean who wouldn't love that. This service seems to be catered to higher middle class families and above. The ones with too much much money and large living room. They are trying to conquer the living room and they can have it.

confirmed-xbox3/ms not interessted in gaming

they'd rather tried this with some other sport-american rugby is.

hut,hut,hud-3 seconds game-break.

wait one minute until the next move

hud ,hut,hut-4 seconds game-break,2 minutes referee decision, another timeout,

never seen such a boring sport.rather watch australian football

What a waste of money. They better give the money me.

Replace NFL with NHL and they will own Canadian market lol.

outstanding. boy thats the best investment you could make for a gaming console.
