Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo sell additional Brawl characters/levels via WiiWare?

It wont happen. Trust me. Maybe in the next Brawl game, but not this one.

Everyone at least should know it's a pipe dream, but it is a cool thought, it took 700+ people to make the game what it is now and most of those people have already left to go on to other things, like in the interview on Nintendo's site it's a one time thing for this team.  But we can think up if it happened how would it work, etc.

If it was to happen, and that's a huge IF, then probably everything would have been done already, or a core group would remain to finish it.  Sad thing is, if this was on the 360, then still happening would be a forgone conclusion, for better or worse.

i think there was on dojo or somewhere on the net that people will be able to send stages to nintendo servers so everyone could download them and nintendo will upload their own stages to your wii(and there will be some "extra cookie" download content from nintedo):

"That’s right! You can use your Wi-Fi connection to send stages you’ve made to Nintendo! (However, you can’t submit repeatedly. Maybe just once per day?)
And a stage selected from the entire daily collection will be sent from Nintendo to your Wii. A stage made by someone else will come to you over the Internet once per day!
DUN DUN DUNNNNNN! That’s the shocking truth. This means you’ll be able to experience a new stage every day—the flavor of the day, if you will. However, the plan is for that stage to vanish once one day has passed. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter."
from smash dojo.

It not happen, why?, because the people don´t have Wi-Fi can´t play with the character

actually there is an option allowing to download new stages for free, but there won't be any new downloadable fighter(it would take too much space). if you will play with someone online and he will want to play on stage you don't have or didn't unlocked it will be unlocked fo the game(same with characters) or download stage you don't have.

i think you didn't read my post.

I saw it. But downloading stages made with the stage editor is different than getting a Nintendo made stage. For online, the stage editor stages are fairly simple to transmit as all the content is already on the other person's Wii, it's only the order that the content is in that needs to be established.

Having said this, Stage Editor is an absolutely AWESOME addition to SSB and I look forward to the 'Stage of the Day'. Almost makes we wish we had Mii characters with Character Editor to give him moves. Almost, but not quite.

I thought Nintendo said they would sometimes send their own stages as well?  Though likely made with the stage editor.

I can't wait to make a stage based off of Mario Brothers.  The Atari game.   Maybe a Donkey Kong Jr and Donkey Kong stage too if possible.

It would be nice to see that feature

@ waron - I'm pretty sure those will just be Stage Editor stages still. But I'll be quite happy if I'm wrong.

@ manuelf - That never stopped Microsoft... They did this exact thing already with Marvel Ultimate Alliance. You could download 6 extra characters for that game in 2 sets of 3. However, for Nintendo, you're likely right.

cool but simply not plausible

If it cost, then most certainly no... I hate DLC, I can understand it for something like GHIII, but even then all the GH songs are too expensive.

Would be cool, I just can't see it ever happening.

Nintendo still doomed?
