ok, so his reason for not taking his pay/royalties was because he wants to continue working...

YOU DAMN FUCKTARD!! YOU CAN STILL WORK AND HAVE A HUGE BANK ACCOUNT!!!

Is he really that stupid? Take the money, put it in the bank. Give some away to whatever you fancy. Just give yourself a nice comfortable layer of financial security. I get the point of not giving it away to family etc and the logic behind "if you want it work for it" but, damn man. You did earn that money by helping Nintendo create a globally successful product that has made billions of $$ for everyone else.

Man, I am seriously surprised his wife doesn't leave him for that incredibly stupid decision.

Also He does give it away Superchunk. He uses his part to fund research.

why does everyone think he is so horrible, he still brings in $100,000 a year, which is quite nice. He'll never get fired from the university he works for since he is famous, and he probably has tenure, and for all I know $100,000 in japan, could be the equivalent of a person who makes $200,000 in the US.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

If you would be someones, who makes good living, wife would you leave? Now, if you think of it, he has made himself famous with the 2 games, and i don't think he anymore hears "no" much, when asking funding for his projects. Also the games have expanded his "word" throughout the world, and besides, usually people who do research for living, aren't doing it for money.
